Tales of Lament Games hosts a wide variety of Conan Exiles flavors. We have a heavily modded EEWA Exiled Lands map, a vanilla classic Exiled Lands map that is essentially the same as the official servers without mods, a lightly modded Isle of Siptah map, and, most recently, a Savage Wilds map. They are all PvE with no plans to go PvP at the moment, as our PvP-C server wasn’t very successful. The servers are in the US on PST time. There are no wipes, you keep your progress, although there are some rules regarding excessive building and thralling.
We have a unique approach. We won’t promise you a rose garden. True to the core of the Conan lore, it is a human-centric experience involving struggle against a harsh and unforgiving world, and facing the known and unknown horrors therein, from ancient threats long forgotten, to clear and present savage brutality. You aren’t gods. You are people. Perhaps exceptional people, but mortal nonetheless. The human struggle is real.
The content focuses on what is presented on the maps themselves. Other than the EEWA server, there is little custom content other than what is presented in some of the additional mods.
There are no increased exp rates, crafting rates, level caps (except the EEWA server), Pippi kits, or spawn times. There is no Discord pay-to-win shop. The admin doesn’t even take donations. You earn what you take, reap, or kill in the game.
The server is set to a baseline of “Barbaric Difficulty,” with some tweaks to it. Additionally, depending on the server, we have mods that further increase the difficulty, such as Stubborn Purges, Improved NPC Engagement, Ambush Plus, Snowstorm EX, Sandstorm EX, and Xevyr’s wonderful The Purge mod, bringing back the additional ever-present threat of the original purge to the game that has been sorely missed.
The remaining mods are either cosmetic, quality of life, or funsies mods like Emberlight and such. They are all thematically keeping with the low fantasy of Conan and the Hyborian Age. You won’t find any Tolkien-related, high fantasy, or Victorian Gothic things here. The full listing of mods is on our Discord page.
At the moment, there isn’t a drop on death (except the Vanilla Server, EEWA server uses a different death penalty system central to the mod), but I may come up with an alternative death penalty via the Lament mod, as death should have repercussions other than inconvenience.
We are also not a fly-by-night operation. Some of our servers have been around for five years, with an average of three years (our Savage Wilds server is the newest at fifty days old), and typically have a healthy regular population. Our server hardware is very good. Our team is industry professionals. We have a dedicated power plan, a dedicated service and disaster continuity plan, and a dedicated fiber line that is one of the fastest in the country.
We are a relaxed community, and there is always room for more. We also have rules regarding POI blocking, excessive building, excessive thralls, and resource paving, among other things. The focus is on friendly interaction and cooperation. There is no pressure to play a certain way. Feel free to RP if you like. We do forbid erotica and cyb3r in public, but what you do in the private comfort of your own base is up to you. Remember that consent is king.
We are also a multi-gaming community. We do Ultima Online – Ruins and Riches, TES3MP, Sons of the Forest, 7 Days To Die, Runescape Dragonwilds, Dune Awakening (sort of, we no longer host a private server for that, we just play it on public as a crew), and many more. Eventually, we will probably host a Legend of Shem map as well.
So if you want to explore and conquer the Exiled Lands, The Savage Wilds, or the Isle of Siptah in a challenging and meaningful way with a feeling of genuine accomplishment well earned, and possibly make some friends along the way, you’ll find a good home on the Tales of Lament servers.
