The 1530 East coast official pvp server is not actually hosted in the east coast - it is mislabeled

Basic Info:

Platform: Steam
Issue Type: Gameplay
Game Mode: Online Official
Server Type: PvP
Map: Exiled Lands
Server Name: 1530
Mods: None - Offical server.

Bug Description:

The 1530 Official pvp server is not hosted in east coast despite east coast raid hours. it has been 200-500+ ping higher than every other 15xx East coast server, and has been this way for years. nothing has ever been done about it. 1536 - and 1540 both also hosted locally with the EXACT SAME player counts - hover between 50-120 ping.

the 1530 server. no matter what. even though it is said to be hosted in the same state as me and all the players on east coast. has 400-600 ping for most people playing. either this server is not actually hosted in east coast despite the raid hours being east coast. or something has been and still is physically wrong with the actual server it is being hosted on.

identical servers with massive builds and players in the 15xx server list do NOT have this same issue to this extreme. it is ONLY 1530 reaching 600-800+ ping for east coast users during peak 40/40 times.

1536 and 1540 with a few other 30/40 average players are almost always below 150 ping.

This is not a computer issue. this is not an ISP issue, this is genually an issue with the server itself, either its location is not as close as it is meant to be or some hardware is failing. Please investigate this. there is genuinely something wrong with the server. there is abolutely zero reason it should be 400+ ping higher than the sister servers that are identical to it and hosted in the same server building in the east coast. like servers literally 1 foot away in a server rack have 300 less ping with the same player count online.

Bug Reproduction:

Look at server browser - see a 35/40 player server 15xx server, it is east coast and that means if i live in the east coast, i should be closer and have lower ping.

realize another sever with 5 players less - at 30/40 is 300+ ping higher for absolutely no reason.

wait 3 years hoping funcom would fix it. - lag has only gotten worse - pvp is impossible now - the actual ping is like connecting to Europe.

see other servers after these years still having 40-180 ping average even during peak - put in multiple tickets. no fix.

make a forum post because there needs to be an actual human to investigate this.

and before anyone says “yes all servers lag” i get that, I’m not actually expecting a playable server where people dont lag in pvp, we all know pvp will never be good on official. I’m genuinely here to report an actual issue with the server. if it drops back to a regular east cost ping like 1536 or 1540 has thats good enough.

I remember when it used to have great ping. Since the report wars, close to 2 years, it’s been in this constant state of high ping.

I know you’ve been on there for about as long. Your base is not what I would consider massive but it is certainly resource intensive (not a dig, you’re always good to me and my friends). Then you have others inspired by your goodwill and flair and do that same. For example that turtle clan with crazy lights.

Consider that the attraction of high population, frequent hackers/exploiters, constant raiding, crazy amounts of BVs and stores of loot are going to ruin the general gameplay.

I agree something needs to be done. Last visit we couldn’t even see our inventories personally or in containers, climbing was impossible, could barely react to any fights without constant desynching.

It is in bad need of a wipe.

i’ll be the first to tear down my lights and decorations to help ping i am desperate for playable server :frowning: but with this latency at this point even a map wipe may not help without more human intervention, last time the server got fully wiped and decayed by hackers the ping was still higher than all the other east coast servers, (after the great wall) i just really hope we can get a person to look into it. me fingers be crossed.
ty for kind words <3

I’d say an actual full wipe server reset. I used to hate the idea of wiping servers but 1530 is a perfect example of the probable need for it.

But it might be as you’re suggesting with either a change of server location or the machine requires maintenance.

Well, post was hidden. Only stated what may be happening. But oh well, removed it my self.

well… i tore down my entire village and the ping actually is higher now, Server is at 700 ping - was at 400-500 a few days ago.

it did absolutely nothing to lessen ping :frowning: village is gone now

Did you store it?

i still have the materials, maybe ill make a new small house  at least building is still fun even in high ping. i had to at least take it all down for science, now i know it does nothing haha

Gods?

funcom told me to check my internet connection, so i did lol
7-25 ping to east coast speed test website.
1k ping on 1530 which is also east coast.

that 1k ping was simply because the server had 39 people on for a few min :upside_down_face:

Ya right… Totally your internet :upside_down_face: :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

I don’t think it’s simply wrong location. I get 100-200 ping playing on EU servers from my location in North America.
400+? Something more is going on…
