it wouldnā€™t be so bad if they would use them for beta testing, because that would imply, that they would fix stuff. Which they mostly donā€™t

So I decided to move Gruth off her permanent task at the Thaumaturgy bench (I didnā€™t place her there) and now sheā€™s using the emote I set her to last night:

This is the first time Iā€™m interfering with her, letā€™s see what happens in the coming days.

It was a simple preface leading to a piece of advice and a bit of tempering of the doomsaying on my part. Good to see that tiny bit you quoted was easily understood, less so that it apparently isnā€™t taken within the context of the entire post and full comment.

I stand by my earlier point, i will give Funcom the benefit of the doubt and hope for a change in their established modus operandi, and follow through on their statement of taking more time where needed for proper bug fixes and content introduction.

Until proven otherwise, iā€™ll temper my negativity in regards to this specific subject.

Would this mean that they have added or improved it so that the living thralls WILL accept emote assignments from the player?

I suspect that now that Iā€™ve moved her sheā€™s completely broken, after a few passes of her going from Thaumaturgy bench to chair and back, sheā€™s remained at the Thaumaturgy bench for a week unmoving.

Iā€™ve left 2 workers, her and Valenso my tanner, alone completely other than last night setting her emote (she didnā€™t respond) then moving her now.

So - what that sounds like to me - is the deliberate and usual movement and placing of said thralls eventually caused whatever ā€œLiving Settlement behavior scriptā€ to exception, or crash out, and as a result they are now executing the desired emote.

Iā€™mā€¦ I am kind of beside myself. But I guess that isā€¦ ā€œgood?ā€ :rofl: :rofl: :rofl:

Thanks for saying all of that so I donā€™t have to. Losing 32 bench thralls in a building to get replaced by 2 wandering thralls is gonna make my builds go dead. Instead of seeing a house full of people, I will see a house full of empty benches.

Take all of your thralls off of your benches manually. Donā€™t let a Funcom update put you over your thrall limit. Thralls will be dismissed automagically until you are back down to your limit whether you are online or not.

Theyā€™ve communicated that the bench thralls will automatically be placed into the benches as items and then you place them.

While I canā€™t corroborate that having been on Beta my first time for this one, I had happened upon decayed bases that did have worker thralls inside benches as items, nothing auto placed with the Beta update.

Either way, still a good idea to be cautious and store them.

This is a substantial change to the game as others have said, and there is next to no chance of it being implemented without problems. Im fine with some minor glitches.

However, the problems with vanishing thralls that cannot be rescued or removed from the follower list is SO HUGE, that the update should not go live until the devs have tackled that. Having peoples thrall populations evaporate for what is essentially a cosmetic change is too much to accept. It would be another shitstorm that Funcom doesnt need.

Delay if you must, but fix this before you push it live.

That would be fine. But thats not the main issue. Weā€™re talking about already placed thralls vanishing in a way that they cannot be rescued or found, or have their bond broken but still count toward the follower limit. Meaning you would have no thralls, and could not get new thralls since you cant get rid of the old non-existing thralls.

ps. Have people tested what happens if a crafter thrall is set to do an emote but still working a bench?

Steam sadly reset my hours played twice. Iā€™m not even sure how much time I have in the game now. Impressive number you got there though.

Yes. Their cosmetic wandering system Will override any emotes.or comands given to them.

Sadly most of the Big issues with the system is not minor.

There is a goal with this. Goal is not reached your settlements Will look like crap. Deserted and there is a very high chance they Will Bug out quickly , can take half an hour. Or more.

We have already highlighted some of the issues.

There is more. @kikigirl reported that Ć­tems are dissapearing from benches now. Hahahaha

They are making a HuGE mistake with this.

It Will be deserted.

And there are issues with thralls being overrided by lower tier Thralls tooā€¦

Anyone even know when the actual release date is set or it will be suprise update somewhere between 1 and 30 oct?

And if the update will be delayed 3 times like beta client one ? :smiley:

Are we? Iā€™ve had thralls vanish to the nether world form my wheel. But those are the only thralls Iā€™ve lost.

If I could find one that was still lively Iā€™d test it.

People, donā€™t panic, lively villages is so broke it wont work but one day then its back to normal.

Which would be a good thing. If this update actually fixed the present issues that are causing people to quit Iā€™d say drop it now. But as it doesnā€™t, no hurry.
