Hi all
With the update about to happen, what happens with the existing thralls in the workbenches?
Do they just stay there after the update but no benefits until I place them in the world?
Or should I put them in chests before the update?
Or what?

As this one understands, they will be moved into the bench inventory and must be placed in the world.
However, if the bench inventory is already full…
Many seem to be preemptively removing them to treasure chests or refrigerators.
Be safe and log on and put them in a chest or the bench inventory…as safe as you can be should I say…lol
I left them on their duty, for science you know

Yet i believe that the best hint would be…
“Body vault whatever you can to your main and all your alts”.

I already put beds, chairs, and campfires down so tonight I’ll go rescue them and put them in chests.
Similar to @stelagel ‘s experiment, maybe I’ll leave some easy to get cook or something and see what happens

It should be fine. Inventory limits are soft caps anyway - for example, if you craft an item in a bench with full inventory, the item is still created, and the inventory is stretched until you take the item away.
If something goes wrong with the update, I can’t be certain that thralls would be any safer in a refrigerator than they are in their bench (because, it could be assumed, Funcom prepares for the scenario where people are leaving their thralls where they’ve always been, ie. in the bench crafter slots). Unless they get blown around by a nuclear explosion.

i put them all in chests, not going to body vault
Can anyone tell me if we had the update already. I am still at work. If we have the update i will phone to my wife to turn on the console
