Trouble with Ubuntu-based server

I tried to install CE server on a Ubuntu machine following the fandom wiki instructions.
When I try to boot up the service, I get a looping ID error

Tried to search for this issue, but the only post offers a solution that didnt work for me.

I know an easier fix would be to install windows, sadly the machine has other stuff running and it cant be done

Did you try installing Windows in Wine?

I can only access the machine via terminal, emulating windows would be imposible, sadly
