What actually would have been a QoL improvement in the inventory

Instead of breaking something that was working fine before and make storages look like a total mess, there would have been one QoL improvement , that i would have welcomed, because it annoys me in every play session.
When I press Tab to put something in the action bar, if I am holding something, which occupies that slot, i have to tab out, deselect it, tab in again and then can replace it.
Makes me furious every day

(The following applies on PC - I’m not sure about consoles) - I frequently do this as well - there is a quicker option than exiting the inventory screen, de-equipping , then trying again - instead while in the inventory screen select the item in the hotbar (that is equipped) and drag it to the inventory (or to directly swap with the item you want to move onto the hotbar. So long as you drag from the hotbar to the inventory (not from the inventory to the hotbar) it works fine. Still moderately annoying, but at least you don’t have to keep exiting the inventory to de-equip.

This is frustrating, but the solution Dan suggested will help you get past it. Do not drag items from inventory to the hot bar, drag items from the hotbar to inventory, this works every time (on PC, I don’t know about other platforms).

As long as you drag them to an empty space, which its a another change.

You can still SHIFT Click to move something from your hotbar to your inventory, so far.

I think you’re missing what I was saying. The point is that you don’t have to un-equip items in order to swap them from the hot bar into your inventory.

Let’s say you have a sword equipped in your hand. You can press Tab, drag that sword from your quick bar, hover over a different item in your inventory and when you let go of the sword it will go into the inventory slot and the item that was in your inventory slot will move to your quick bar.

I really do not have a lot of complaints about the inventory as it is on CONSOLES, but I damn sure would like them to make the UI scaleable so i can set the zoom for the text of my inventories and inspection highlights.

I mean holy cow, the ui is guess work on the text and images.
Does that count as a QoL improvement?

Oh and wouldn’t mind if the items actually moved when clicked, lately on Playstation 4 there seems to be some horrible input lag, and yes i am playing offline single player.
