The Secret World is rich in mysteries, in layered lores and stories that cling to the back of your mind like a stubborn barnacle long after you think you’ve let them behind. And, like all stories worth telling, those tasty secrets hinge on the many, many, characters we meet along the way.
What if we showed them some love in return?
The event:
Write a post-card (from your Bee’s PoV) to your Bee’s favorite NPC. Where is it being sent from (screen captures encouraged but not obligatory)? Why that NPC? What does your Bee hold dear and close to their heart and wish to express via cardboard, water stains, and a flawless faith in the postal system circa “somewhere: the apocalypse”.
How to enter:
Maximum 500 words, minimum 50 words
Post stories (and photographs if wanted) in the thread;
Indicate which of your toons is signing the postcard! If they are signing with a variation of their names, please ensure the post includes their in-game nickname so I can find people.
One entry per character, please! You really need to pick that Bee’s favorite.
The Prizes
This is a raffle. I love you all but I (Hermit) don’t have the bandwidth to give critics or judge on a anonymous rubrics. I will enter names into a name picking wheel.
I swore I wouldn’t write you again before visiting, and for this, I apologize. The weight of these cross-bearing masks has only ever been alleviated by your palms, and the photo I carry unto battlefields can hardly satisfy cravings. If the days of bloodshed in Fusang hadn’t lead me to quarters near you, I’d have found them too frivolous to sustain. With such, in the dream of your grasp alone, I am weak.
In my path to another chore, I’d spoken with a man so deluded his every word was made trustworthy. He’d said he met you, unwound, but couldn’t dare overlook your owner’s mark. In some ways, I envy him. Without memory of your whispers, my degeneracy would’ve degraded me into a mindless apathetic, the gaps in my certainty drowned by vice. And perhaps, like that deluded man, my lack of awareness would set me free. But I’m certain that freedom would’ve only lead me back to you, in a form too hollow to perceive your beauty.
I’ve been stationed in the snow as of late. I dare not feign concern for why. I pray you aren’t so silly as to hide yourself from further love on my behalf. Though I’m cursed with foolishness, I’m not naïve enough to insist you wait for a soldier, spirit-bound to endless conflict. And like you, I’m not so shallow I’d confuse the physicality of your work with our unspoken understandings. Sonnac, who may be the only respectable man who’s ever adorned the red crosses, has spoken to me of a love he’d held similar. Codes written by the demons which sculpt us would do nothing but deteriorate your glow.
However, when I’m inevitably taken from you forever, at the hands of a peer-in-strife, I relentlessly hope to taste that cold-wrapped warmth I’ve only ever felt in your embrace. And similarly, I hope my longing warms you.
Dave,
Wish you were here actually, no, you’d hate it. The Shadowy Forest smells like wood smoke, rotting mushrooms, and mild existential dread. I’ve been dodging revenants, trading uneasy glances with the romany sentries, and trying not to get dragged into whatever’s festering around Dimir’s farm. If you want conspiracy fuel, this place is a buffet. fowlskins
You would love it here in the Carpathians!
I mean it’s a bit nippy, but there’s so much opportunity for adventure, and so many things to discover - it’s not just a boatload of snow.
With the Red Hand’s presence here I’m sure you could even find some artifact or other for your business dealings.
Dear Stationmaster,
Thank you again for your help for another wonderful Anniversary celebration. You know, London is warm and bustling this time of year if you were looking for a nice place to take a break. If not maybe I could run you some tea and biscuits on your lunch-break sometime? Do you prefer bourbons or custard cremes?
Sincerely,
Joe

Dear Jung.
I was just visiting Solomon Island and I was reminded of you when I came upon this beautiful playground. I bet you’d love it here. Not a single kid nearby to make fun of your head and even if there were some, I saw an Askr Lord nearby, compared to whom your head is absolutely tiny, so no chance anyone would notice. There is even an amusement park nearby if you are into that.
[non-formatted text: Darling Sophie,
thanks a bunch for keeping spirits high in dark times. To give you some relief from endless duty, I took the liberty to speak with Saïd in Hotel Wahid International. He is happy to welcome you under terms of an international exchange between fellow hoteliers! I’m sure you’ll feel right at home. The warm hospitality, bustling streets and delicious grilled dishes all have a familiar charm. They even have ghouls similar to those in Harbabureşti!
Cheers,
Medb ]

Have you ever been to Cairo? The view here is beautiful, but the train reminds me of you. Do you remember when we first met, two weeks ago on that photoshoot? You behind the camera, giving firm, resolute orders. Me sitting on the ground in the crowd next to that disgusting brown slug that someone brought. It was love at first sight. With you, not with that slug. Ew.
Ever since then, I can’t help but think of you in that cute little outfit of yours. I can still see it so vividly: the polished buttons, the perfectly creased pants. Gets -my- engine going. It’s not just the train engines that run hot after hours.
How’s my favorite sand-slingin’ troublemaker doing? It’s Bubbahoetep writin’ to you from the strangest damn place I’ve ever seen — Agartha. That’s right, the hidden heart of the world itself. Lights like you wouldn’t believe, and doors leading just about everywhere evil needs a good kickin’.
Been thinkin’ about that wild time we had together back in Egypt. Those nights chasin’ shadows under the pyramids, you watchin’ my back while I did my thing… I still smile when I remember it. Ain’t many folks I’d trust to fight beside an old man who used to be the King. You’re one of the good ones, partner.
Things are heatin’ up out here. The world’s still full of things that go bump in the night, and I’m still too stubborn (and too pretty) to let ‘em win. If you ever find yourself near one of them Agartha portals, come on through. I’ll show you around and we can swap some stories.
Keep that fire in your belly, Nassir. And remember — if anybody gives you trouble, just tell ‘em you know Bubbahoetep. That name still carries some weight.
Thank you very much, Bubbahoetep

P.S. Next time I see you, man, you gotta teach me those crazy dance moves!
you won one of the runner up prizes that are distributed by FunCom. Do you have a usual playtime/log in time where they could get in contact with you? Thank you!
Oh, sorry about that! I can do Euro evenings? I’m usually around on Sunday and Monday 10pm-11pm UTC, but that’s just because those are the only times that RP happens in hours that I can make. I can hop on earlier or on other days!
