Only because it is funny now.
As much as you pretend to not care, you are pulling your hairs out over this, while I am only laughing.

I never said I don’t care. I said it’s worthless, but still annoying. It’s baseless and watering down real contributions, while misleading people who aren’t following this as closely
So clearly I can’t choose the wine in front of me.
I’m wondering if this isn’t something like an hour-glass? But blood instead of sand? Counting down to the 3.0 release when it is filled?
If it’s an hourglass, what do the symbols represent? Each new day that gets filled the symbol visually glows brighter than the blood around it, something is happening beyond just a slow blood drip
Maybe they represent the parts of the game that’s finishing up… The map team is done with the finishing touches so one symbol if filled, etc. for all the teams working on the various parts of the game…
Hey, I never said I knew what I was talking about…
But this is CLEARLY Dennis Douthett with bloodshot eyes giving critical instruction to the team!
The anguish of your soul sustains me.
15 June is coming.
Dennis is always happy… His actual hero:
I’ve been working all week so I haven’t been keeping up – I had to put it on a post-it note at first, and physically turn it. Then I saved it as a file, and rotated it on my screen. They are English letters and regular numbers, and unscrambling.
Dude give up. You are just speculating. And using “sorcery” to make your specualtion seem logical. HOW DARE YOU. This thread is not a sorcery speculati…oh wait it is. So you keep speculating. It is what this thread is all about. For a moment, with the back and forth, Jimbro had me thinking this was a facts only thread.
Well it’s not purely guesswork. Every theory should have something it’s based on to back it up, that’s what makes a solid theory. Keep poking holes in things until it’s defined more thoroughly. A good theory will firm up under scrutiny, a poor one will pop.
Well, the outer symbols will be filled with blood by Monday, but what about the center symbol? I guess it will light up glowing red when the other four are finished.
Do you really think this will go to testlive though? I feel with such a major update it will have been thoroughly tested and just released with following patches to pickup any issues
I am certain it will go to testlive. In fact, if it is as big as they are implying, it may even go through an early access phase too like Siptah did.
This one sincerely hopes it goes to testlive.
No amount of rigorous internal testing fully prepares a product for the consumer. Furthermore, the feedback of one who is dependent upon the publisher for rent/mortgage food ect… money can never be taken as completely unbiased.
Also, they are expanding their team. It is not fully expanded. Offices with an abundance of staff do not have a bio-cog shopping list as long as this one’s leg.
The worst option, for this one, would be a broken release just before July and then the game is left broken until well into August.
If avoiding that means the new stuff sits in testlive for a month or two, so they can actually act on feedback (glares at fence foundation snap points) then so be it. With the content on testlive it at least let’s us sniff at it, appraise it, and note that it exists and what it actually is.
Especially if there is live event type content (glares at the single player roll out of Grave Matters) as part of it, they can at least stress test the rest. If the entirety of the new/revised content is live event style…
Well, this one will roll eyes at the hype of biggest change ect ect… but it is what it is.
I’m thinking the 4 symbols may just represent 4 types of Acheronian sorcery, schools or sources of power. Guess we’ll find out soon. I’m tipping there won’t be a testlive either. There’ll be a big reveal and a countdown to playing - too late for testlive, it’s most likely built already (would have to be if they are going to continue with the recent much appreciated trend of almost simultaneous launches of updates / cross platform parity) and they’re just going to have to see what reaction it gets when it’s live. EDIT: 0/10 for my “no testlive” theory - but when is it going to start!?!?
“Non sequiturs are tight.”
I used to wonder why people use those lines of arguments: “If X wasnt invented at Y time, Z cant be done using it”. After some 20 years travelling around and actually seeing ancient sites and hearing people talk about them, I dont wonder anymore.
Abstraction is a hard to master skill.
I’m not really sure what you mean by this; but if you think you know the source material better than Funcom and de Camp himself, by all means citation is absolutely needed on your bold claim.
Aight new idea, its not a portal or some crazy way to travel or unite both maps. We also payd for Siptah so yeah kinda doesnt make sense to make a F2p map comnected with P2p (in my way to see it).
But… What my talking staff is telling me is that it could be a new dungeon, or set of dungeons wher we could get siptah recepies and siptah drops?
Maybe some random events (Grave matters style) but we get a random siptah boss and the chest after we kill it gives us some RnG weapon or armor recepie from siptah
Considering they are closing server transfers, and someone from the team sayd “Not sure when and if we will enable transfers again”.
Maybe all this is gona be a way for us to be able to farm Siptah stuff in EL same way they can farm EL stuff in siptah thru the Surges.
No no no… this aint big enought like they sayd, but its good tho.
Greetings Jimbo. Just thought I would be neighbourly, one megathread owner to another, stop by and weigh in on this long running discussion. At least before we (in all likelihood) actually have sorcery added, and speculating about it becomes redundant.
You know early into the game’s release I remember not giving a damn about sorcery, or what seemed like a design decision to omit it. In fact, I would go as far as to say I was kind of relieved it was not in the game, as I felt it may detract from the amazing barbarian vibe and combat style which Funcom had realised with this gem. And the last thing I wanted was to see that overshadowed, or the game descend into another fire flinging rpg.
But that was then and this is now. Conan Exiles has recieved many new features and reworks, and the game has been feeling more complete. But by the same token it now feels like the game, as wonderful as it is, is just missing some final touches to compliament it further. And I am now convinced that some base sorcery element would achieve this. Provided that it is done tastefully and in a manner consistent with the lore, which previous developer statements have already indicated would be the case. So in summary, I now feel that some sorcery would be both satisfying, and will do the game justice.
This just got me thinking… Conan was never a blatant magic environment and it was more subtle. I’m envisioning curses that lower you armor/damage/spéed., Blessing to do the opposite, crafting to give bonuses to weapons and armor (or personalized like we asked for), and anti magic…negates affects.
