“But I decided to ignore them because no one else is getting admined on the server”.
“I spent money so I should be above the rules”.
You think you are above the rules?
Sorry but this is pretty much the attitude on most all the PVE public servers. Everyone thinks they above the rules because funcom doesn’t actively enforce them. It’s as simple as that.
They build and build and build, hoard and hoard and hoard. Wonder why the server lags then goes ballistic when they get the time out they have been working so hard to get.
There are limits, you exceeded them, you got a time out.
You haven’t lost anything but time.
For the third time on the public server I’m on some one has built over Telith’s island. Not built on, built over. The island is a POI, it has 2 POIs and bear spawns on it. It’s clearly not a legit place to build by the ToC, but people build there anyway, because nothing stops them.
The issue with the public servers; and you know this is my pet peeve, is no active admin moderation. So people build unhindered. People build with the attitude if it wasn’t ok to build there it would be a no build zone. They build with the attitude if they use too many foundations they will get a warning like with thralls. Or they see everyone else building city states so think it must be ok, everyone else is doing it.
So I’m sorry, but I have 0 sympathy. You did this to yourself and have said as much.
Now we have discussed at length, ad nauseam about what changes need to be made for the system to work. Not going to happen, would require too much time, effort, and money from funcom. And you certainly can’t count on players to even read the ToC, let along understand it, or even look at the examples of ToC violating builds.
Guess what? Ornaments are land claims, torches are land claims. thralls standing around are land claims. But you would be hard pressed on a PVE server to find a build not surrounded by ornaments, torches, and thralls.
“But but but but I didn’t have foundations all over why did I get a time out for land claim”?
