First some quick background:

I am Australian and play on Oceanic servers 6403/1972 and 1952 all PVE-C.

I have 9923 hours playing this game.

After i hard days work after dinner i enjoy doing interesting builds and generally enjoying the game ( relaxed mode ).

Lately I decided to build on the (2) damaged temple like structures in the far SE ( near the entrance to Dagons ).

Been there a few weeks now progressing my fun build when several players on Server 1952 inform me they had bases disappear. I check mine and sure enough it is gone completely. Just the usual stubborn place ables and thralls left dancing in the air as per normal.

I make a post in the feedback and raise a ticket regarding this issue. A day later i find Funcom has suspended me for (2) weeks. Not just on Server 1952 but my entire account ( all servers ). Zero response to the ticket by the way.

Reason? Blocking resources/and or a location was the message pop up.

So no warning or even a courtesy message for any of these players or even a longstanding player such as myself. Just a suspension for 2 weeks with zero notice and no warning.

The other players that had that same issue are in the same boat as me and their reaction is mostly the same if not worse.

I think this is grossly unfair and represents poor if not non existent customer service. Where I have built is a common place to build in a ruined temple that is:

a) not part of any quest ( that i know of )
b) is not in a “no build zone”. Building is allowed in these spots. Over all my years of playing this game I have seen builds in this spot over and over again. There is no resources there and nothing significant there it is a ruined building that your game says people can build on.
c. Not blocking any thoroughfare ( it doesn’t go anywhere anyway it’s next to the water )
d. No NPC’s present.

Suggestion for the future:

  1. If you find a player has built somewhere you don’t approve of send them a pop up that says" You have 48 hrs to remove your building from Grid such and such as we feel this area is inappropriate for building "

2.Common courtesy should be a thing taken for granted not requested.

  1. Make said area a “no build zone” like in other parts of the map.

So why did I call this post “One good turn deserves another”?

Because I have suspended Funcom.

I have purchased all DLC’s and most of the bazaar items to date. No more will I purchase a thing from their shop or any future DLC . I know it’s a drop in the ocean but that’s my response. Not to mention I will be responding to the many people on Steam and You Tube who say" why are you still playing that dead game?"
Before my response was to stand up for Funcom and suggest other modes of play to maintain interest and look to the future updates.In general try to be an ambassador for this game. Now I will have to respond in a different manner.

Yup at the end if the day. What it is, is tired over worked people who do not care about the players only to squeeze them for the money they can.

And also it sound like funcom has some bad apple representing their product and services. This is as bad as scam call center where they take your money and run with it.

Though are you able still access private servers and play there with actual admin support

I will beg you not to take it the wrong way, but these rules about official servers exist some time now.

It is obvious that you crossed these lines, but please read if you wish so you’ll know what to do or not the next time.

I agree, it would be really good to have a warning, but if you wish answer me some questions please.
If you had a warning, how could you know what to destroy or not?
You would read the rules?
Why you didn’t read them all this time?
Because you were kind and helpful, ot have 9k hours?
I do understand and respect you as a player, don’t take me wrong, but you have to accept your mistake as well.
Rules are for everyone, from 9 hours to 9k hours all the players in official servers have the same rights.
I want a warning system , but for all the players , no matter the hours.

Make no mistake, the veterans who did not accept a ban yet is not because they did something right, it’s because they are still “lucky”.

I let everything to decay after the rules arrived, but i help others in several servers to build. One day i’ll be banned too, i am 100% sure for it, but i play online for people, not the game itself, so let it come, i don’t care!

i remember years ago when we asked for help on officials to deal with exploiters and people hacking.

Instead we get people banned for building.

The absolute only thing I could possibly think is being blocked at docks are the gorilla men spawns… Is that worth an admin wipe though? They’re littered through the city, they don’t offer anything exclusive, they’re not quest specific or the only spawn. There are 2 that spawn in total, 1 at each dock.

Its finally happening to PvErs now eh? Well now this issue may get some attention. PvPers been complaining about this for literally years at this point, so i empathize. I just got off my 2 week forum ban for " attacking the devs". I guess expressing youre opinions is offensive these days, makes people want to cry.
Anyways, i havnt spent a dime on this game since sorcery came out. There was some cool stuff in the bazaar and BP but whats the point of spending money on a poorly run mess of a game thats literally crumbling before our eyes.
The server performance is in the gutter, issues/ bugs ranging from new to 2 years old unresolved, dupe glitches, sky bases, terrible enforcement actions; the list goes on.
Thus game needs to end, and the devs need to put every resource into making sure Dune is the best it can be ( although we shouldnt have our expectations set to high) and hope they can make a Conan Exiles 2 with a fresh new engine and coding thats not hindering the new dev team.

Unfortunately it’s not about anything he’s blocked. If you build the full length of the dock you will be banned for the size of your land claim.

It’s the same with the gutter. You can build the complete inside of the gutter and if reported for landclaim spam you will be banned. Thats with the only building being inside and not coming outside of the entrance.

I’ve had my base wiped from building the docks and on a server I played 3 different clans were wiped and banned for building in the gutter one after each other.

It’s pretty crazy.

Nothing is worth an admin wipe except flybase or undermesh.

It is worth a warning and a fair timespan to fix what is wrong. 3x warning → action taken

But Funcom is so fundamentally bad at things. It’s just sad.

I’ll take this as a joke! The first members we took complaining in here were pve or pvec players, pvp came after, way after…
So, please no more pve - pvp b… hit in here, please.
No matter the mode, rules need improvement because the costumers are not satisfied and that’s a fact. Even if we speak about free servers, the players are still costumers!

I am so sorry for you. I know how you feel now.
Again a post like this… Your post is polite but I think they will close it and say that you should post a zendesk ticket. And that’s the end of the story.

I understand they need to do some action but what would heart them to give you some information what is the problem and some time to fix it for you. Maybe the decay timer… and a reminder for them self to check if you solve the problem they have with your building

I mean OK they need to take action twice then, but I am sure there would be not so much posts they have to close because of angry players. And also not that much Tickets which don’t give you use able information about what you have done wrong.

They’ve maintained that it’s not the size of the base but how it impacts the server. But as we’ve gone around in this merry-go-round of what ifs is it really like you’re saying? Idfk.

Is it because it is a perma-structure as we’ve all discussed before? Keyhole is cursed for me, I won’t ever even chance building in there again. Gutter is a no way because of what I’ve seen.

I’ve built at docks recently and no admin wipe because no one reported me… as it works, I guess?

I know people who were reported and they actually got an answer for their suspensions: goat spawn. Literally 1 goat. This was the deciding factor. Like literally wtf?

I agree with you about the customer point. Look how badly they treat us. Doesnt exactly make me want to spend anymore money when i could get banned for whatever reason.

Its funny that they dev wipe players for server percormance yet the servers are still terrible even with low pops. They also introduce zombies to the game where someone can have 3-4 with them at a time. When multiple people/ clans load up a server with these things its a bit counter intuative to their server performance narrative. Funny stuff funcom.

Instead of getting your “fun” and “enjoyment” crushed while using official servers…
perhaps it would be a much more wise choice next time to just let yourself go wild and free in SP mode. (it IS available for a reason), Or better yet, RENT A SERVER and play till you can’t play anymore.

The rules were up for everyone to read.
Don’t blame the development if you didn’t bother reading.

Where is the rule stating that you are not allowed to build inside keyhole ?
Where is the rule stating that you are not allowed to build inside gutter ?
Where is the rule stating that you are not allowed to build in the towers of dagon’s embrace?

Imagine playing a game that is so toxic, that it drives you away from it’s own official servers.

Ah, this one had wondered when the next observation that enforcement of HoA policies is whimsical.
It had been a week or so.
Good to see it break up the monotony of other pervasive topics.

A single goat spawn?
That’s a new one. Usually this one sees iron as the listed reason. Could it be there was a kill goats quest in the BP that day?

Honestly, this one dreads the clan aspect of their current PvP experiment. Usually this one runs solo, and rarely builds much of anything anywhere accessible. But working with a clan… Bah, need to build in extra time around the understanding that there will be bans.

That quote of the rules doesnt say you cant build in the locations SirDaveWolf asked about. You can build anywhere - and anyone can report you for building there. Thats the thing - people just need to stop being so butthurt about legit bases and stop reporting them. Spider web spam? Sure, Ill agree to a report on that.

Also, single player version doesnt offer the same community feel as a populated server does, and private servers you could run into the possibilities of admin abuse. Sometimes those are the only things people care about and thats why they play official.
