Age of Sorcery? More-like Age of Fall Damage

If there’s one thing that’s ebbed and flowed over the lifetime of Conan Exiles and its many patches, it’s the fall damage.

Our fateful barbarians alternate between hard as strone, impervious to decent falls, to soft kittens whose delicate pads cant handle the smallest of drops.

We’re currently in a kitten phase.

I recall posting about this a long long time ago when enough became enough. I was sick to death of having to heal from even minor drops - yeah, some barbarian.

Well we’re not as bad as it once was, but still, the majority of my healing is from ■■■■■■■■■ fall damage. I am constantly taking it when traversing the map, on foot or mounted and frankly, it’s annoying. It’s definitely worse than it was a while back - the kind of thing that tends to fluctuate with patch updates and is unwittingly changed.

Yes I know there’s a perk in the agility tree to reduce it - but for those of us who barely ever spec into that tree, as if we’re going to do so just to fix a problem that shouldn’t be affecting bloody barbarians in the first place*

Nah, it’s fine…

You only take damage from 7 meters or more. That’s 23 feet for those not into metrics. And that is the very least amount of damage you can take - only a few pixels off the health bar. What do want, to be superman or something? That’s basically the height of a third story window in real life. Try it, next time you’re near a 3rd story window look out at the ground and ask yourself if you would like to jump - or even if you could jump without breaking a leg or something.

OTOH, maybe you did fall out of a third story window onto your head and that’s why this is an issue to you now? j/k but seriously…

i agree nerf fall dmg

They did. It’s called feather fall. Cast it and you should be fine.

Sounds like you’re just bad at the game. Fall damage is no problem. It has been nerfed before already and there is a perk to half it.

You can literally grab on to anything in this game. Even if you jump of a massive cliff you can go back to the side of the mountain and grab on to it.

I love this tendency of people to argue against anything in the game that they don’t like with “But my guy’s a barbarian!

…Okay? He’s still made of meat and bones, two things which generally don’t react well to long drops onto hard surfaces. Barbarians were just dudes from cultures that “civilized” people didn’t understand, they weren’t invincible superhumans.

I remember when I started the game falling from high places with heavy armor was Lethal, but naked was OK . Now, I think that epic armors 1200+ and the second perk is actually saving me from “lag” falls. Other than lags it is very rare to die from great fall, it can happen to be “pushed” in black galeon, or a bad dodge, but I can see no other reasons to happen. Ofcurce, there is always bad calculations on stamina when climbing, but still this is a really noobish way to die.
In Siptah I find trouble in the jhil vault only climbing the cages, the bug however is the pain there the great fall is just the outcome. Still 1200+ armor and second perk in agility may save you even from this great fall. Use the perk, it’s very effective against falls, almost life saver .
