Welcome to the Forum. It’s a shame your first visit is because of this hot mess of crap. @dragonstorm562 @forever49x . Everyone else I have not had a opportunity to play since update seems like a good time to head back to private server and admin in something interesting. Appreciate Everyone’s comments.
I doubt it- SWTOR has a 5k players and is still going.
STO about 1k players and still going- a free game that releases content for free.
CE has about 8k without any updates. it spikes when they release content to about 10k-12k
But in some cases if they dont fix peoples accounts properly and some remain banned unjustly they will lose them permanently. And those people will not purchase a funcom product ever again. Thats where it will hurt.
First, I do not know what all those acronyms mean. Second, yes, thanks for reinforcing the point I made towards the person whom I responded to.
This latest update has reminded me of the fun and headaches back when either 1.0 or 2.0 landed years back. That update was also around year end or start of year when vacation time was at a premium. Hopefully the major (and minor) glitches are resolved asap and the damage to the game repaired.
Happily, running private, modded servers has meant that my servers are usually down for a few days post any update or release. This has insulated me and some of my players from the reported ‘glitches’ fr now.
This latest issue will be resolved. There will be updates, patches, and hotfixes to resolve current issues. There will be some scintillating feedback and ire in the Forums. There will be delays that will eventually be fixed. Some Content Streamers (and Dev Managers) will melt down completely and likely need some tlc and perhaps hugs, but the issues will be resolved. Eventually.
Just a reminder. As anyone who has worked in an project environment, especially where software deployments are involved, be absolutely sure that those Players will be hurling vast amounts of (justifiable) rage and ire, the Funcom CE Dev, Project, and Community Manager(s) will have gone incandescent with rage for what that’s worth.
For those longtime players who have seen this all before, I am guessing there will be some slumming about on other games, some forced interaction with family, partners, and ankle-biters, and perhaps a stiff drink or more before being forced to enjoy the festive season.
(a usual Huge thanks to Modders, TestLive Testers, Discord Moderators, and Streamers for doing your collective Things)
The only reason I can think of that they would require people to still submit a ticket to correct the issue, is that the crom coin ban is not an actual logged ban, but simply a surface “block” that prevents people from access if the system detects an incorrect balance in the crom coins, which would mean that whatever giant flub happened here, would result in them having to go into each and every account to manually correct the incorrect balance so that people could regain access.
It is unlikely they have anything in place to run a check on all accounts for invalid balances, so they’d have to go through each and every account (both invalid balances and balances) to look for the inbalanced ones. I can’t imagine it would be that difficult to add some sort of logger/flagger to that detection system to make it simpler, but until such a thing happens (if it ever does), then relying on support tickets to let them know which accounts need to be looked at and fixed is probably the quickest accessible way to get through this.
IF they actually looked into tickets. Mine are holding there without even a “first response”.
I can get my alternate account into the game, that means the issue is specific to those who bought coins in a certain period of time. Funny that the period of time in question is a “sales” for those coins, which means something with not having “paid” for them might be about not considering a sale for effects of calculation, or something. It seems.
Regardless of why is the problem, the problem itself is not the thing. Problems happen, and these kinds of things sure would happen to any publisher, potentially.
The problem is how they are handling it, or the lack thereof. This coupled with the changes on combat are already taking effect for negative reviews on Steam.
I might just change my things to that alternate account, and call it a day. But honestly, I have been playing for years now, computing over 3000 hours of play. While I have seen serious problems in this time, nothing compare to this.
In past situations, at least as far as I was aware, there was always something done quickly to take control of the issue, even if the issue was not resolved. Now it seems nothing is being done to address the implications of the problem, even if we understand that the problem itself takes time to solve.
So I was bluescreened while doing a purge cause this is the only way to get a barkeep figured id snag one and build a tavern in the background while things are fixed. By the time i logged back in it had cancelled apparently a demolisher teleported through 4 doors and 20 thralls in the moments i was away im not sure if this is a failsafe first time its happened to me no bag in sight and it would b impossible for them to walk out anyway. I took that on the chin i just want a barkeep but now the game is stating the purge is forever ongoing its been over an hour and i still cant build a new coffer because "Buildings cannot be constructed, modified, or destroyed during this so called endless imaginary purge. Im assuming itll fix on server reset but itll take me hours to farm up the 80k i just lost trying to play it safe for a lil ole barkeep. Probably best to just put this game aside for a few days nothing is safe in the state its in and the grind is long
ich habe das problem zwar kein bann aber 3800 crom sind weg
Funcom please give us our money back until mid January
Yeah, I’m still “Banned” too, its been 12 hours since I logged the ticket, still no joy, no reply on my tickets or anything… seems they mean it?
What about robbing CC ? When you get it back ? Mid january, what are you smoking ? You will be sued for stealing from players, before mid january. Do you think someone will buy something from you after this?
I don’t think the issue has much to do with sale prices of crom coins. I suspect they introduced a new detection system to determine crom coin amounts, but whoever was considering all sources forgot to take into account discounted pricing on bazaar items along with the free crom coins from the battlepasses (and any other source that could have granted coins.)
They probably only took into account the cost of what’s activated on the account along with the prices of all the battlepasses that were activated, which means all the free crom coins, and the discounted costs of bazaar items acted against your account, as the “vanilla” pricing wouldn’t add up.
For example let’s say for the sake of brevity that there were 4 battlepasses (I can’t actually remember how many there were). If you purchased the first battlepass, and then completed all of them, this would net you a bonus 4,800 crom coins. Regardless of whether or not you purchased any additional crom coins before activating each one, that’s still 4800 crom coins that are just “there”.
Then we consider how much people have “saved” on discounted bazaar items, that can pile up quite a lot. So the balance check weighs how many crom coins were granted to your account through purchases only, and uh oh… How’d you afford all 4 battlepasses with only 1200 crom coins, and all those bazaar items with as few as were granted to your account…
The fact that several people have posted “-1200” crom coins, suggests that they at one point or another, completed one of the battlepasses, and that may have been all that they’ve done in that time.
Now, when you find a thrall in a cage on the island of Siptah and release him, your thralls will instantly attack and kill him. )))))
Since people can’t play are we going to get extra time to finish the battle pass?
Extra time to complete the battlepass for many may actually be more of a further penalty than a compensation, as it does not take that long to complete the battlepass for them, and many of us would simply like the next battlepass to come along sooner than later.
I have my doubts that any sort of compensation will be given, despite that it is very well deserved. They have caused a lot of unnecessary grief for all their paying customers (literally only their paying customers), and forced us to take extra steps to regain access to the game due to their own internal folly.
Battle Pass boost and some free coins?
Got welcomed with message chargeback -7,800 coins witch was around 75% of my coins so lucky did not get banned only robed …
camel mount / Purge berserkers ( on with sedge ram +150,000 Damage ) not being fixed till mid January 2024 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o6ZsIr7sEFg
Things can go wrong, and it’s Christmas time, so we should all be even nicer than we usually are. But one has to mention that at least some of the issues were known, reported and/or obvious before release, e. g. the Camel Calf not working in the stable.
- When turning off “Rotatable Stationary Camera”, characters often get locked into a single direction, as if target-locked, but without being target-locked. Can only be stopped by target-locking and de-locking an enemy.
- The respawn in the PvE raid is still much, much too fast.
- Thralls teleport around in the PvE raid. The building is too complex for CE’s thrall AI.
- The thrall pot still isn’t working correctly.
- Telith’s ghost is still missing.
The issue with stacked foundations is still there. When you stack them, you can rotate the top one only in two directions unless it contacts the terrain. What’s the point of this? It only makes updating the bases much harder when you have to basically tear the whole foundation of the base down just to be able to get the replacement foundations facing the same way. Of course you can build the foundations facing the same direction right from the start but i still don’t understand why it had to be changed to this.
And another thing is the Aesir curved fortified wall, what’s the reason for it having to contact terrain to be able to place? It just makes building a nice, symmetrical base extremely difficult since you have to be on flat ground if you want the walls to be at the same level. Just fix it so it can be placed on foundations like everything else.
