Anyone have any clue what this purple void is?

It started out small and in one place. As I moved my camera, it started infecting everything it touched and grew bigger. I was able to outrun it and it went away as soon as it went off screen.

It’s a visual bug which I get from time to time for more than a year (not frequently). It can be purple or black which is much worse because I can’t see anything and have to restart my game. It can appear anywhere on any map by the way.

It’s a beetroot stain. Someone recently had a food fight in the area and failed to clean it up.
