Authentication problems and decay timers

@Community, can you please disable the decay timers on official servers until the authentication problems are solved? Thank you.

I don’t think anyone is listening. I believe they are closed until Monday. afaik.

Thank you Codemage for this request, I just had an authentication error, came to the forums to find out what I needed to do and your post was at the top. That really decreases the pressure about - is the a “me only” problem.

Yes to your request as well - please stall the decay timers!

Yes, I agree. I’m a little worried about my bases.

I think they should also extend the timers a bit normally. I really like this game, but sometimes only have time on the weekends. Shouldn’t lose everything after a week of non-play. Not everyone is in a huge clan. 2 weeks seems a more reasonable default timer, with 3 weeks for summer.

Hey, I got in!! Just kept trying while reading these posts.

The Dev Said That They Are Monitoring The Situation Meaning They Have To Watch A Screen Full Of Coding To See If Something Is Standing Out And They Said They Would Update All Of Us On The Matter In Which I Completely Understand Everyone’s Frustration But The Devs Are Working On It Still This Takes Time You Have To Understand There Must Be A Ton Of Coding In The Game Itself So With That In Mind It Could Take A Couple Of Days Hopefully This Helps.

To make the whole process go faster, after the first time you’ve used the console command, you don’t have to paste it in anymore, you can open the console (with Ins or `) and press the up key to bring back the previous console command. So basically, as soon as you see the “Authentication failed” window, you can press Enter then Ins then Up then Enter in quick succession :wink:

Rinse and repeat and eventually you’ll log in. That’s how I refreshed my base on the official server where I play.

(Yes, I know, it sucks donkey balls, but it’s better than losing all of your stuff.)

My last login was yesterday so im good for 4 more days before some nub comes along to decay it out

You still have to close the console command window to click the [OK] button before you can then re-open the console command to repeat the steps. But yeah, even with that, it is slightly faster than waiting for the servers list to load up and then manually click the server you wish to play on. I’ve followed these steps and repeated the process multiple times (more than 30 and counting) without any luck getting in.

The console closes automatically as soon as you’ve issued the DirectConnect command. Or at least, it does so on my computer. :man_shrugging:

At any rate, that’s just a workaround, but not everyone has been successful in using it. I’ve read posts from people saying they’ve tried to connect more than 30 times and still couldn’t get in.

It really would be nice if Funcom disabled decay on official servers until they fixed this, but at this point I’ve stopped hoping. :frowning:

As title implies, some of us work throughout the week and look forward to weekend play for 2 reasons; 1. To reset our build decay and 2. To enjoy your game. Currently 95% of us can’t do either for our official servers. It’s in everyone’s interest if you bump the decay up to 2 weeks until this sorts itself out.

they will be adding a no authentication error option to the bazzar for 1000 crom coins. good for 10 logins

Think they will do what most companies do in this situation. Ignore it and pretend it did not happen. Third day in a row I have tried logging in and can’t. Ping issues stopped me first time. Now it’s these error messages. I know my stuff is about to decay, again. Months of work is about to vanish. Getting ready to get kicked in the dick again by Funcom.

Over 50 tries later I got into one of my servers. Maybe I should have bought the battlepass for access to my account…

I’m in Asia. ping in official Asia servers is often above 200 so annoying. now we got this “authentication” crap. what a great job FUNCKOM

Increasing the decay time wouldn’t solve anything. It doesn’t automatically give you free time, you’d still have to log in to reset your decay to the new time.

Edit: Context was removed from this post by merging it into a different topic. The original topic was asking to lengthen decay time, not disable it.

It gives everyone an extra week for them to sort out this problem. How do you think the average casual builder is going to enjoy losing all their work? Losing it all will result in uninstalls. FC can change the timer on the server, your clock runs regardless if you log in.
