Authserver down?

Game from yesterday saying that can’T connect to live Funcom servers.

My dedicated server in log request failed, libcurl error: 7 (Couldn’t connect to server)

{66CE24A0-5C46-4CC7-B868-C0F2542543F8}

nslookup authserver.funcom.com return *** router.lan can’t find authserver.funcom.com: Non-existent domain on ISP DNS, 1.1.1.1 and 8.8.8.8
Whats happening?

Although not quite the same it is becoming more prevalent since Conan has not been closing properly for me to get to the server browser only to be told I am not logged into Funcom Live Services, this happens especially when I have to close the game by task manager, despite steam having closed I will see both Battleye, and Conan running, the next time I go to run the game I get the message regarding not logged in, I then have to restart steam in order for it to work.

There is something going on for sure with Funcom and their server’s but as to what is pure speculation, I can confirm that the officials can be played upon and single player, so maybe this is something to do with the dedicated server.

You could try this free program that will find the fastest dns server from your pc, I am not saying it will work but it will certainly find the fastest for you with regards to responses.

I tried change connection via phone. Same.

When I start the game to main menu very very often I get Offline Mode only message. Then I must several times click for Try again and then it will go through and log me to Funcom Services.

About dedicated, I see in the logs just error 7

So it is not about DNS more is about Funcom servers but nobody other talking about issues…

Is it this tool you use for dedicated?

Ive just downloaded the tool, I ran it and had no issues with connecting to it, both the dedicated server and the game are on the same PC, but I was able to see the server within the games server list just as I would any official server.

I rent a dedicated from another server host and the other day It was timing out for me, the errors that were within the log file of the game related to AMPQ messaging, I restarted the server and all was fine.

You may find more tailored help here as this is their forte.

I asked on Reddit. It happening on my fiber optic and cell phone provider. I have four dedicated servers, yes using Dedicated Server Launcher.

On the server:
LogHttp:Warning: 0000022D820FF580: request failed, libcurl error: 7 (Couldn’t connect to server)

{66CE24A0-5C46-4CC7-B868-C0F2542543F8}

On the client PC (we have two gaming rigs and they do exactly the same thing)
Often you start the game and in the MAIN MENU will popup OFFLINE MODE that game can NOT connect to the Funcom services.

This isn’t some server setting error because my “live” server is running weeks without any problem. Last week or so there was some outage on Funcom and Steam services, that Conan wasn’t playable in online/lan…
It is NOT even problem with 1.1.1.1 DNS or 8.8.8.8 DNS or with my TWO ISPs DNS

This has been happening a lot to me also. Hit or miss you can even get connected.

Same experience here. My dedi server libcurls and when I try to play I have to try logging in twice or three times. DNS won’t resolve Funcom.

By any chance has steam managed to close Conan or have you had to close it via the task manager?

Sometimes it close itself after few seconds to minutes, sometimes can stay running about hour.

Damn, today it is really a** pain with Funcom services login. I need test client speeds to server and don’t have time for milion times click retry on Online restricted popup.

Funcom do something with your auth server …

Just a hunch but I think this is related to what is happening The game won't stop running after quitting the game - #28 by Aisling

Tie that in with bug fixes coming makes me think that something is changing maybe for the better maybe not, at the moment it seems to be causing issues which seems normal for Funcom, but after the patch who knows?

This tool will at least help you see individual programs and their connections this may give you an insight onto what is happening on your end.

@cyc: How it will tell me why happening this?

I must click milions of time and pray gods that it will connect. Same for servers.
Same for other people

This is NOT client side issue

Unable to login - Anyone Experiencing that as well? Reddit - The heart of the internet

My Reddit - The heart of the internet

So I would like to see some Funcom reaction here

There are multiple connections opened by both Conan and steam along side battleye, the fact that you are not able to connect and others are despite having the same login issues suggests that possibly the changes that are affecting players are either demographic issues, or consumer end issues, for whilst we all seem to be getting some sort of login issue we are still able to connect , whilst others are not.

Without extensive information with regards to the type of ISP, router, networking card, OS , location as all of these can and will have an influence upon any connection, couple this with no input from Funcom on anything we are left with ourselves to troubleshoot what is happening.

This does require us to use what is available to try and find out and eliminate what it is not and hopefully arrive at what it is, but from the online play is restricted thread that you mentioned this has been happening for a while as I have explained in my first post on here, and as the last poster stated in the online play restricted thread he can eventually connect.

I have just tried to login and I am getting this message always now, but using this tool I am able to see that the battleye service is not connecting with the servers which is probably the reason for no authority to login.

Anyone having the same issue can run the tool and you will see connections on the left as shown in this screenshot below.

As opposed to this screenshot when I was playing online Official and you can see that there is a battleye connection.

If this help you to tell me what is going on eith the Funcom service servers…
Fiber optic 2/1Gbit + Cell phone 5G around 750Mbit
MikroTik RB4011iGS+RM
Clients Windows 10 + 11 realtec gbit
Servers Linux+Wine+Dedicated server lanucher
1Gbit LAN
Central Europe Czech Republic
NOT USING BATTLEsomething
Connecting to my dedicated servers cluster

And again I got popup error when I only start the game. So?

I have just uninstalled battleye and reinstalled and I could connect no issue, I am aware you are not using battleye but try and uninstall battleye and reinstall, then run the game let battleye update and connect to your server, or an official.

Let me know how you get on.

Why to uninstall something that I don’t have installed? Its nonsense.
And with dedicated server that they have the same issues
LogHttp:Warning: 0000022D820FF580: request failed, libcurl error: 7 (Couldn’t connect to server)

Are you from Funcom?

I made clean install. Run without any mod downloaded and

I tried yours MNM but without knowledge what I looking for, what IP have auth server of Funcom is nonsense and tells me nothing

Really!

Clean Install of what?

Is why!

Another reason is that the officials are rampant with cheaters, without going into specifics you can run Conan without battleye and see what is happening, looking at how the cheats work they are also able to glean this information, so If I was looking to prevent rampant cheating I would firstly not allow my program to run without anti cheat regardless as this would certainly make it more difficult to run the tools that enable the programs workings to be seen.

Whilst this is but one side of the cheat the other seems to be using well documented protocol freely available and how this can be used is available on other forums.

So again just a hunch maybe the latest update is looking at ways to not only fix crashes and bugs but also to tackle cheating, but again is my hunch nothing official as I am just a player trying to assist others with possible solutions.

At the end of the day this has worked for me and as explained prior I was able to run the dedicated server tool and join via the games server browser, and whilst I had the login issue this morning uninstalling and reinstalling battleye worked for me, I was also able using the tool to see the process’s make connections to their relevant servers, which when I was getting the no login not all the process’s were doing this.
