Bookcases and the Bazaar (feedback rant)

What about the arcane building set that gives the double wall with 170k? Most likely a accident but certainly p2w. Funny thing is there are videos about it so those that want to hide behind a wall will buy it and when it’s patched FC will have made money on it. Similar to the bookcase but the bookcase wasn’t really a pvp advantage

I’ve been trying to convince people since… ever… that there’s (much) more to it than “it’s performance”. That’s just a convenient, easily understandable “shut up about it”. It’s probably not a lie, I mean I’m sure if they did the absolute minimum to implement this, used armor as-is with an “invisible body” underneath and optimized nothing, you could cause some serious performance hits.

But thralls are way worse than the imaginary armor stand, since they do all the same things AND run an AI (limited though it is) on top.

I didn’t even realize those pieces had so many hitpoints until someone on the forums mentioned it. I think it’s a difficult building piece to begin with. It can’t have twice the hitpoints of a single wall because you don’t need to break two regular wall pieces in order to make a hole in someone’s base.

But would it be fine if it had the hitpoints of only a single wall piece? Maybe it would. As a single item, it would still take only one hit from AOE effects, and thus it would be fair in situations where both single-wall pieces would be hit simultaenously. And even if there were two regular walls on top of each other, you’d only need to break through one to make an entry point.

Point being the one you pay for has almost double. So unless they make them all the samd or very close it’s still technically p2w. My guess they didn’t intend for this

Yeah, it feels like they just thought that if it takes the space of two walls, it should have the hitpoints of two walls. Which doesn’t make sense as long as you can’t break only half of the tall wall.

I used those tall walls to build my anti-Purge wall on Single-Player, without realizing I was paying to win (I rarely pay attention to object hitpoints). I’d be fine with halving their hitpoints to match a single wall. Anyone who bought them for the express purpose of getting a stronger wall will have deserved their disappointment after Funcom has repeatedly stated that they do not intend to sell power.

Technically the arcane walls could be considered p2w however rather than nerf them, they could just introduce a plainer version of the double high wall within the standard set with the same hp, then everyone would be happy. If not then everyone might just return to building walls out of foundations.
