Books disappear from the Nemedian bookcase (BLB item)

Basic Info:
Platform: PlayStation 5
Issue Type: Graphics
Game Mode: Single Player
Server Type: PvE
Map: Exiled Lands
Server Name: N/A

Bug Description:
Nemedian bookcases become empty. You place the item, cycle the appearance and it goes well. You leave, not even needing to go out of render distance, and the books become invisible.

Bug Reproduction:
Place the Nemedian Bookcase and choose an appearance. Leave. Come back. It is empty. If you pick it and move it, cycling the appearance of the books disposition, they will be set again, until you leave. Then the same will happen. It’s a very nice item, with the appearance cycling being a great feature, but it seems to be bugged.

Greetings MarcosC!
Thank you for reaching out to us.

If you also play on an Official Server, can you please confirm if this issue is also happening there please?

We’ll be waiting for your reply!

Not at the moment, @HighSaint . I can do it if needed and test it if you are so kind to allow me a couple of hours.

Ok, @HighSaint , I already tested it and online I couldn’t reproduce the same bug. Started a new game on official server #3023, evolved to the necessary level, built it and tested.
I went out of render distance and even quit the server. On return, the bookcase was as I left it. It seems the bug might be on Single Player mode.

Maybe your thralls are borrowing books from your library and not returning them when you’re not looking.

The bastards!

Your thralls obviously enjoy being able to S.T.E.A.L. (Strategically Transfer Equipment to an Alternate Location).

On Single Player I definitely have the bug, though. It keeps happening. :pensive:

It’s been like this since the bookshelves were released. I play on officials 3531 and 8064. Same thing. They look nice when they work. It’s a shame they don’t 90% of the time. This was something that was reported back then, but it never got fixed.

Well, better late than never. These things aren’t exactly cheap.
You are saying it also happens online, @jmk1999 ? I was lucky then. On Single Player, they never worked for me. All become empty.

Looking at it right now. Not working.

Yeah, that’s sad.
It’s an amazing object, but it needs to work.

Thank you for your reply MarcosC and jmk1999!

If the issue is happening with you @jmk1999 on the Official Servers 3531 and 8064, could you please share with us your character name and your base location through a screenshot of the map please?
You can send us this information through a private message if you wish

I’d share, but I’m not a fan of declaring my stuff to admin. I was suspended once for land claim in the past and hate taking my chances. I just don’t trust them. I can assure it’s pretty regularly that this bug happens though. You guys can try it for yourselves. Maybe you need to make a base larger than a sandstone hovel that @MarcosC built on his official. Either way, it’s present. It doesn’t need to be seen. It needs to be tested in a realistic environment by the dev team ON the console with a realistic build that players will actually make. Sorry if I’m being difficult. I’m just cautious. If you still can’t reproduce the bug—which I’d be surprised—then maybe I’ll consider sharing.

Update: All bookshelves are showing properly on both servers with only a couple people online. This may be tied to population of the server and how taxing it can be. A busier server may make them disappear. This is another factor that should be taken into account when testing.

Yeah, I started a game and built a small platform for this purpose alone. Maybe that’s why I couldn’t replicate the bug…

What was the server population at the time? I edited my post above that it may be tied to how bogged down the server is with players.

No idea, @jmk1999 . It was the first that popped up in the list, so low ping. I started a new game, evolved to the point I could build the bookcase and did it. Keep in mind this also happens on Single Player, where the only player is me.
