Bug: Aja's Bane 1h Mace doesnt apply Executioner perk

Basic Info:

Platform: Steam
Issue Type: Gameplay
Game Mode: Single Player
Server Type: PvE
Map: Exiled Lands
Server Name: =SERVER NAME=
Mods: =MODS=

Bug Description:

The well known legendary 1h mace “Aja’s Bane” doesnt apply its Executioner perk (instant kill if opponent’s HP < 10%). While my thralls are fighting with this mace I can observe that the opponent isn’t instantly killed by my Aja’s Bane wielding thrall as soon the HP is below 10%, not even 5%. I even had fights where the HP was “3” or “4” (numerical figure, not %) of 600 initial HP and the enemy NPC was still happily fighting.

The bug was already reported in Jun 2023 but is still unsolved (or active again): Aja's Bane: Executioner, Does not Execute

Bug Reproduction:

Easy: Take a low damage thrall (like a bearer), equip Aja’s Bane and watch him grinding through the opponent’s HP till the 10% HP range is reached.

Executioner proc can’t be triggered by thralls

Is this confirmed or an asumption? Other weapon perks like Sunder can in fact be applied by thralls.

Executioner unable to be procced by thralls was listed in patch notes pre Battlepass and BLB iirc

That’s not the case. You might be confusing it with things like the sword of crom which was previously unusable by thralls?

In any case, Executioner on Aja’s Bane works perfectly fine when triggered by thralls, just verified it.
Perhaps OP is misunderstanding how it functions.
The enemy needs to take a hit from the mace while already below 10% HP, they won’t just “automatically die”, so it’s totally possible to have 600 max health NPCs at 3 HP fighting if they only took a hit from that mace while above 60 health and that’s the hit that brought them to 3 hp.

It’s just not something that is useful against humanoids with fairly low HP, it’s meant as a minimal boost at the end of the fight against very large health world bosses. (way back regular wildlife world bosses used to have above 20k health in a lot of cases so it made more sense, now with the 5k bosses it’s not even useful against those)

The description on the wiki for this effect is correct btw, with the added caveat that thrall damage server settings will apply so with the current default settings thralls will do half the execution damage as players.

So, to clarify, does that mean that a thrall would only deal 5% of the enemy’s total health with that ‘final hit’?
(IE. Thrall Bob fighting Giant Croc, eventually whittles the Croc down to 10% of it’s total HP, strikes it again triggering Executioner, deals the final 10% halved, so only deals 5% and Croc remains alive requiring a second Executioner hit? Or does Executioner only trigger once the Croc is below 5% because of the halving of Thrall damage? Or does Executioner just deal fatal damage once Croc is below 10% and the halving only affects how long it takes to get down to that point?)

Edit: Ignore the question - I just checked the wiki - so Bob will deal half of 10,000 HP, which nowadays should be fatal on anything once it’s down to less than 10% base HP. So the third of my scenarios is the one that applies in effect (though not quite for the reason I was positing).

I was still in the impression of @Lucidique .

I stayed in this impression since the executioner weapons were only 2 and back then tbh thralls were doing the job and we were drinking coffee on boss flights  .

Thanks a million for the news @Xevyr , it’s really appreciated :sign_of_the_horns: .

@Bohewulf thanks for the topic m8 , i would still be in the dark if you didn’t ask this question.
