Before the newest update it was possible to return placed foundations etc. back to inventory, but now it isn‘t longer possible.
I can only destroy them.
Did i miss something? Really annoying.

That is part of the new build system.
When dismantled with the hammer they should give full resources back.
Likewise, any build pieces you had in storage are likely now bags of “salvage material”.
