Can an illusion be removed?

As per the title: can I remove an illusion I put on an item? Not replace it with another illusion, but remove it completely and leave the original item with its original appearance?

Have you tried illusioning it again with the original item? I know that’s not what you asked but it would be functionally the same.

The original item is Yog’s Touch and I only have one of it

I guess I could try it in single-player to test your idea, but it would suck to have to do it like that on an official server…

I don’t believe you can illusion an item twice. I think I accidentally tried to and it said the item was already illusioned. So… I could be wrong, but I think once it’s illusioned, you’re stuck with it.

You can, I just tested it.

Currently, no way. No regrets.
So think very carefully what to be illusioned (or toss the failed product to your least favorite follower…)

Yep, I’ve repeatedly replaced illusions on my stuff with new illusions, but so far I haven’t figured out a way to remove an illusion.

Why, though? Are you feeling disillusioned with the feature?

Oh, great. I’d like to change my Thralls’ appearance but was too lazy to test it

Oh OK :joy: I’ve only used the bench to change over the top fancy stuff into things like ordinary iron broadswords, it didn’t occur to me you might be doing the opposite!

Doesn’t yog’s touch has the same skin as another ( more easy to get ) axe ? :see_no_evil: :speak_no_evil: :hear_no_evil:

Yes. I didn’t remember which one. Not sure if it’s actually easier to get because legendary chests have a much bigger pool of loot than the Servant of the Priest-King.

Indeed but generally by the time you get Yogs touch , you have already a couple sitting in some chest . But of course if we speak only by the RNG to get it , then yeah you are right

Awesome! Nice to be proven wrong on this!

I wasn’t exactly doing the opposite. I was wondering whether transmogrifying Yog’s Touch to look like a Glimmermoon would also make it a light source. Spoiler alert: it doesn’t.

Anyway, instead of being sensible and jumping out of the server into single-player to test it there, I foolishly grabbed my only Yog’s Touch and my only Glimmermoon and performed the experiment. And then I was stuck with a Yog’s Touch that only looks like Glimmermoon, but doesn’t give off any light, so I was wondering if I could just dispel the illusion.

And yeah, I know I can make it look like Yog’s Touch by using a Battle Axe of Berserkers, but why do that when I can make it look like something (I find) cooler, like an Aquilonian axe or a ghast axe?

Honestly, I just wanted to see if there’s a way to remove the illusion

I wonder if you can make it look like a lying bastard sword and then have it function with a shield (unlike the lying bastard sword) given the lying bastard sword functions as an axe.

Doesn’t the delving bench remove modifications from equipment? I wonder if it could do the same thing here and remove illusions.

Delving bench destroys the item completely. Unless there’s a method to salvage it that I’m not aware of…

My favorite illusions: bearer pack to look like earrings and akbatanan shield to look like the ancient lumurian shield.

Here is where I saw it.

The Delving Bench’s removal of equipment upgrades provides a way to replace an otherwise permanent upgrade with a more desirable one or to make it usable with applied items like poisons and oils.

I never done it and i’m wondering if during the delving process, it drops the upgrade…which in that case, legendary gear would be pointless to do since durability is gone in the delving process and therefore legendary gear would die.

I never thought of transmogrifying the bearer pack! Dude, thank you so much for that!

I can try that in single-player, but is there any way to get a delving bench in Exiled Lands?
