You can have a mount and a pet/thrall. The mounts won’t help in a fight, but will follow you as well when dismounted.

As @Ulyssi said that is all we can have other than perhaps on a modified PC server.
it depends , as Ulyssi said on official servers and on console ( ps4/5 and Xbox ) you can have a horse/rhino mount following you at the same time with a pet OR a thrall .
But if you play on pc , single player or private servers you can add some mods to the game that can allow you to have up to 4 followers plus a mount .
