Same problem and no solution
Funcom broke sorting.
Open the inventory.
There is a selection of sorting types in the upper left window.
Cancel any sorting (no sorting!), i.e. choose “WITHOUT SORTING”.
If you have opened a chest, then your character and the chest or workbench must have the same sorting type. And this type should be “Without sorting” - at the same time.
