Cant finish buildings

Playing single player on ps4 and i cant finish buildings because tiles, foundation pieces, walls , will not fit together. It tells me there are overlapping objects when there are not. Has anyone else had this problem?

Depending on issue.

-Switch building pieces and back to one your using. (your placing foundation and get someone there, or another error) Switch to ceiling tile, then back)

  • Use repair hammer check stability. the error that pops on screen… I’m gonna call it “default” error that doesn’t always mean what it says. May not have enough Stability to place object.

  • Clear out rocks and plants, Somedays…you can build over a rock…some-days you can’t.

  • Door is in the way (edited in, forgot that one like always.)pokes cannipals for reminder

  • leave area and come back. The game can be slow update changes sometimes.

Few pieces that need be placed before other thou. fences Often need be placed last, before roof is placed over it. Sometimes what on 1st floor, wont let something on 2nd floor be placed.

Something as silly as carpet, has a wider range then what it does visually. As do work benches.

I find when I see that overlap message it usually means I have something in the vertical space above what I’m trying to place. Even if what’s being placed is a ceiling tile for the floor.

For instance, a doorframe with a door in it.
Solution: temporarily remove the door from the frame and place the tile. Put the door back

Similar with a bracketed/wall-mounted torch or whatever it’s called.

But been bit definitely more than once by this issue with a door
