So I just kicked up my own dedicated server, determined to figure out what was causing server crashes left and right on roleplay servers.
Destroying Turanian foundations, or destroying objects NEAR Turanian foundations causes crashes, or near crashes, 100% of the time. At least in builds where there’s 1000+ pieces.
So large clans deleting these foundations can literally crash the server. In fact, our server FPS tanks from 60 FPS to 2 FPS 100% of the time, each and every time we destroy a Turanian foundation.
Something is wrong with the Turanian foundations and it should probably be looked into. I just went onto another server and deleted a bunch of Turanian foundations and it crashed.
I don’t usually use the forums often, so I have no idea what the format for it is. I couldn’t even find support or bug section, just tags.
Bug Description: Destroying objects near Turanian foundations, or destroying Turanian foundations themselves causes massive server FPS drops and crashes.
Repeatable: 100% of the time
It’s a pretty straight forward bug and I thought I was also fairly straight forward in how I worded it. Not sure why anyone would nitpick formatting.
You were very clear. But I believe the template is used by some automatic process to copy the information into their bug tracking system. Even if a Funcom employee were to see your post, they are just as likely to do the same and ask for the template.
You can find it when searching for ‘NEW Bug Report Template’.
Upon creating a post in one of those forums, the forum software will automatically point you towards the instructions on how to do it correctly.
Unfortunately, it’s not nitpicking. It’s that these forums get a buttload of new posts every day, and the number of Funcom employees actually reading these posts is limited. If the bug report isn’t posted in a bug report forum, it probably won’t ever reach the devs.
To be brutally honest, even reporting it in the correct forum does not guarantee that it will reach the devs, but the chances are much higher.
It’s not turanian foundations.
It’s any set foundations, ceiling pieces, pillars, walls, etc.
It’s caused by taking pieces off of larger builds that were built with stability turned off.
Turned off.
We found even putting it at 50% reduces/stops it so that’s what our servers are set at now.
Be advised that turning it back on will not fix builds that are currently having this problem. It will also not destroy them. It will just prevent future builds from causing it. People whose builds already cause it will either need to rebuild or attempt to add pillars and foundations underneath to give it the normal stability.
