Bug Description:
Can’t craft hiking boots even though I have all the ingrediants and the knowledge.
Bug Reproduction:
crafted the light boots necessary but the icon for climbing boots won’t turn green
Can you confirm the boots you are trying to craft? I ask this because I had a similar problem and did not realise that the boots I was trying to craft were the Improved boots which required Perfected Light padding.
Yes I can. They were definately the Climbing boots. I crafted both light boots and perfected light boots but neither worked.
I am going to join your server to see if I can reproduce this issue. It may take a bit.

Had a glance at the wiki to refresh my memory. There’s three versions of light boots. Normal, perfected and epic. You tried normal and perfected, so maybe climbing boots you’re crafting require the epic version of light boots. 
how would I get access to that knowledge?
Put a t4 crafter on your bench.
Might have to be the improved version of the bench as well.
there’s an advanced version?
Yeah, you know. There’s the basic armorer’s bench, then the improved version. (And of course the grandmaster versions after that.) I just don’t remember right off if epic armor requires the improved or grandmaster versions or if they can be crafted on the basic bench as well.
I dont have the grandmaster versions
Okay, I have climbed Fingerfang rock, gotten the recipes, and can now craft regular climbing boots and Spiderclimb boots with no issue.
Sadly, I am unable to reproduce your situation.
