Well in all fairness, the forums are a very very small percentage of the player base. X hits significantly more players and regardless on how you feel or my agreement about how official announcements need to be done, it hits more people on x.
Am I wrong but isn’t there some forum moderator/community manager that should post updates HERE, the OFFICIAL forum?
My suspicion is they don’t get flack on X. I see they got all of 5 responses and 50 likes. If they posted here they’d have gotten 5 responses in the first hour and none would be likes.
Why post some place where people might expect explanations and account ability?
In all fairness, that is a lazy bs excuse. This is THEIR official forum and it is THEIR responsibility to post these sort of thing here. I have made the exact same post about their utter lack of announcements of the twitch drops here on their official forums regardless if they post it on some garbage social media app. Much like @DeaconElie I do not use any of them. This however is Funcom’s official forum and since they have a community manager as well as an advertising team there is legitimately no excuse for them to not post these messages on here AS WELL AS on their other official platforms.
Exactly! It’s their official forum, where they can officially ignore us
And why shouldn’t they? Every time someone dares to criticize them for it, there’s always someone who will leap to defend the poor corporation from bullies. We’ve been told that this community deserves far worse than this, that we’re all whiners, that we’re ungrateful, and that it’s our fault that the game is a mess because Funcom listens to us.
Yes but that same person also says that the only “issues” with the game (because “bugs don’t exist”) are cause by things you download on your PC (even when responding to PS and Xbox threads). So I’m sure you can tell how much stock we put in their opinion.
Or, at least make an announcement that the forums are not, and will not, be a location that information is disseminated upon and that News and Announcements should be sought out elsewhere.
The paradox of departure.
If you don’t say goodbye, people think you may still be there, or just be out for a few moments.
But if you do bid adieu, you have draw attention your intent to be done with them.
The irony of noting that one is no longer talking to someone.
Well after causing so much of the anger, hate, demands and more…
if I were them I wouldn’t sit around and hide and do an even more half arsed job update after update rather than improve my processes. But I guess to each their own. Pretending the world isn’t burning around you while ignoring the people who literally saved your company from bankruptcy is always an option after all. It’s, you know, not a good option. But it IS an option.
Bah, they are expecting an entirely new batch of customers to swoop in and buy Dune now.
If they got saved from bankruptcy once, they obviously can be saved from their owners “restructuring” with a repeat.
Not that there is any noted danger of Tencent doing anything to Funcom, but bankruptcy is off the table now. They no longer have the risk or freedom of being an independent studio.
I could tell you to ask yourself why there’s so much “anger, hate, demands, and more”. I could ask you why all of the Chosen of Asura – players who were officially recognized by Funcom for their contributions to the community and who were all invariably on good terms with Funcom – either fell silent or turned against Funcom. I could point you towards posts from those of us who tried to be both fair and supportive, who kept telling others to acknowledge Funcom’s efforts and to give them a chance to keep their promises and prove they can do what they keep saying they would.
I could do all of that, but I know it’s pointless. You’ve already made up your mind to join the rest of the sycophants who believe that “not being nice enough” is somehow an excuse for years of consistent failure to do an acceptable job. May you enjoy their company and the dumpster fire of a video game you get in return for being a quisling.
Had some bubble gum herm on me so no need. Note: do not use rooting hormone on autoflowers.
Yup, go to the Dune discord and see how a developer should treat their fans. 6 months after release the courtship will be over and the Dune fans on discord will see how getting ghosted by funcom feels. They will be right here in the basement, ignored, like the rest of us.
And don’t waste time trying to clue in the Dune fans, they some how think they are not going to get funcomed like funcoms last 3 titles.
We got a new com manager. I thought things were going to change, didn’t in the least.
What I have learned here in 7 years is the one thing funcom is best at is disappointment. They have consistently, never failed to fail.
