***bin playing on co-op server with friends and we went looking for star metal for a few hours and didt here or see a meteor.
Steps on how to reproduce issue:

Debes estar durante 1 o 2 horas por la zona donde aparecen los meteoritos para que aparezcan.
Es una zona bastante amplia, así que debes estar atento para cuando aparezcan o escucharlos.
the meteor strike has a chance ( let’s say 5 % ) to strike in the first 30 minutes
the second 30 min increases the chances of a meteor strike , up to ~4h untill meteor strikes are 100 % chance of spawning ,
and there is an increased chance at server restart ( though I am not so sure about that last part is still right since I didn’t farm starmetal since the increased meteor strike rate of last event 
)
also the pattern for the smoking meteors on the ground is randomized , so check out the hole 2 areas they can spawn in ( south region of the frost giant dungeon underneath the obelisk , and north of stargazers crest on the mountain face and on the trail of said mountain
I’ve had no problem getting start metal to rain down. Try looking around The Outcast Camp on the hillside there for any that may have already fallen.
