Hey there. I have a dedicated server that me and my friends were playing for a while without issues. But since the big update few month ago, we are unable to connect to the server anymore. The server is showing in the ‘‘invalid’’ section when looking for the server. I’ve tried to update the dedicaded server with ‘‘steamcmd’’, ‘‘login anonymous’’ and then ‘‘app_update 443030 validate’’. But it is still not working. I waited few weeks to try again just in case of a patch correcting the issues, but I just tried again and it is still showing Invalid.
What could I do to be able to connect back on that server? While searching for answers, I saw that there’s now a Dedicaded Server App (Conan Exiles Dedicated Server Launcher), would that be easier to update and lauch the dedicated server with this app? If so, how can I transfer the data from my existing server and import it into the Launcher?
Yes, it would be much easier to use the DSL…
As far as the details of how to get it up and running, you just need to download the DSL here; run it in a new directory to allow it to create a new server, then copy the database and server settings files from your current server into the new server. @Toolguy is very helpful, if you have any difficulty, just post your questions here.
I want to say you don’t have to do anything, but just point it to where the save is. If the save is in a normal install location it will probably know where it is out of the box.
The DSL only manages the server it installs itself in the folder it creates itself when you deploy it, so no you can’t point it to an existing install/save.
BUT, after you’ve deployed and started a brand new server using the DSL, it’s trivial to fix that:
Deploy/Start new server
Stop the server
Overwrite the content of the Saved folder with the one from your old server (so game db, ini files, …)
You may have to drag’n drop the modlist.txt file over the UI to force the DSL to find the list of mods.
