Consistent Soft Lock from Irida's shop

I played through the Demo version on Steam, bought the game, and continued playing. I haven’t done anything more.

If I click on Iridia’s shop, the game soft locks. Iridia doesn’t spawn, and no UI pops up. I can’t exit to the menu, and I have to alt+f4 out of the game.

I checked out a youtube let’s play (this one: /watch?t=234&v=DhheCzP9uNs), where Iridia shows up and says some lines before the UI shows up. When I do the same thing, this happens:
/watch?v=tiY2u6_C4z4&

Ugh, can’t add links (probably for spam reasons), so you’ll have to manually add the youtube dot com thing in front of the watch links.

Any help?
