Corrupted Pak file error

Basic Info:
Platform: Steam
Issue Type: Crash
Game Mode: Single Player, PVE official
Server Type: PvE
Map: Isle of Siptah, Exiled Lands
Server Name: =SERVER NAME=
Mods: =MODS=

Bug Description:

Keep getting a Pak file corrupted error. I have now uninstalled and reinstalled the game and all files 3 times in the past week. The error can occur while loading into the game or at anytime after.

On a fresh install today (8/18) the verification of the files after install failed twice. The first verification failure caused my machine to reboot. Once able to launch the game again it took about an hour of play for the error to pop up.

This happens in all game modes for me.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 8700G RAM: 64 GB GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Super 12GB

Bug Reproduction:

  1. Unistalled and Reinstalled after crash last night
  2. Played for about an hour
  3. Corrupted Pak file error
  4. Verified files, still no files found to be corrupted after verification

The problem is the integrity of your disk; it may have damaged clusters.
Move the game to another disk with the steam utility and then let me know.

Go to ...\Conan Exiles\ConanSandbox\Content\Paks
Sort files by date modified.
Delete the ones at the top going back as far as you can remember not having this error, then delete a few more just for good measure.
Verify files to replace them.
If you keep getting this error, then delete every file in the folder. This is the nuclear option, as the pak files make up a large chunk of the game’s entire installation.

I have one 2 TB SSD. No other disk to install too. The machine is 3 weeks old

I deleted everything on the last 2 installs. When I deleted just the Pak files Steam wouldn’t verify or redownload the missing files.

If you’ve had power outages or anything else you might have damaged clusters, or the disk is faulty.
Solutions:
A) talk to your PC dealer and see what he might recommend; he might replace the disk.

But to figure out if the disk is damaged you need a disk analysis and for a 2Tr it is an endless task, I suggest you do these steps so you understand if the disk is ruined:
B1) make a copy of Conan Exiles on your hard drive in the same folder where you now have the Conan Exiles folder
B2) you will have in …\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common two folders one named Conan Exiles and one named Conan Exiles-copy
if during the process it gives you error of damaged files it is certainly the fault of the damaged disk
B3) once you have copied the folders rename Conan Exiles to Conan Exiles— and then rename Conan Exiles-copy to Conan Exiles
B4) run the Steam tool to verify the game files.
B5) DO NOT DELETE the Conan Exiles— folder and start the game and let me know.

If you can now play your disk is ruined unfortunately you don’t know in how many places it is ruined, I recommend using a tool to repair but it is a further endless operation. example on yuotube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fv3aKTYuCv0

surely there is better and many other people could recommend a better tool for you

PS it is not certain that when copying the folder the clusters that will be used are all healthy…

Did you use the steam tool for verification?
