Death by main player in co-op forces partner to reload as well

Have been playing the game in single player co-op with my partner and whenever the main player (me) dies my partner gets teleported to where I respawn. I don’t think this is a bug but I just wondered why you force other players to where the main player respawns after death? Any plans to change this?


Steps on how to reproduce issue:

  1. Play game in singleplayer co-op
  2. Have main player that created game die
  3. Watch the second player get teleported to where the main player respawns
  4. ???

I suspect this is due to the tether distance between the other player and the host … the co-op game will not let the joining player get too far from the host.

Yes that is my understanding but it doesn’t make a lot of sense. Hosting a co-op server is not very different to an online server except that player numbers are limited and the server is not online 24/7. I would have thought that the same rules should apply. It kinda sucks because it really interrupts the flow of play for my co-op partner.

We haven’t tested to see how far away we can get from each other. Most of the time we’re playing together anyway but we do split up at different times to gather resources, etc.
