Decay time issues on newly placed objects

Objects like tents or benches won’t get the decay time of the base when I put them really close to it. It used to work before, now even if I place them 1 mm from the base, the decay timer remains ~90 minutes.

They never shared decay timers.

It’s you going close to them, sometimes even from inside your base if close enough, to rise their timers.

Not sure, I’ve put a tent next to my base last week, and it’s on the max decay timer. Now when I tried to do the same, or just put a campfire with a bench (next to a smaller house), the 2 objects had different decay time.

We’ll send note to the developers so that they can look into possible inconsistencies in the decay timer for placeables that are built on the ground but within the range of your main base.

If possible, please share a screenshot of your base and where you’ve placed the items.

First thought is claim radius. The objects (targets) have a very small radius, and thus aren’t extending to the tent. The tent may just outside of the foundation claim radius, thus not triggering the link for decay. place a foundation between the tent and the stairs, and see if that links them.

The bench one at top, is another story. Maybe because it is not a foundation, it is not linking properly.

In fact 3,4,5 NEVER worked for me and I always told other players no to do because I ever understood was not intenteded they could work (but they work for you !).

You’re totally right, there is something really strange in that.

Actually that’s a foundation at the stairs, and ceiling next to it on the first 2 pictures, I know it looks tricky, but the insulated wood ceiling and foundation looks the same if you can only see the top, I tried to place a large tent like on the other pictures there too, I was even able to place a small part of it on the foundation (I mean it was a small glitch, it wasn’t on the foundation, it went through it, but the game let me to place it anyway) and it still didn’t get the decay time of the foundations.

Well that sucks. Hope they figure this out. This is more than likely part of the overlapping land claim issues as well. The wonky range detector at work :frowning:

Well good news, I was on my way to check out if I put anything next to the black ice stairs now, will it get the decay time of the base there, I checked it again at the “bugged location”, and bannng it works perfectly fine now, even if I put the stuffs farther, so thanks for the comments and all, it’s fixed for now! :cowboy_hat_face:
