Emotional about Emotes

So we have all these cash shop emotes that are really cool…

but most of them cannot be executed by thralls as idle animations.

I bought a few emotes from the cash shop until I realized that the thralls could not execute them.

Needless to say I have not purchased a single emote since that realization.

So Funcom, I’m telling you, I’d throw more money at you if you’d let us have the thralls use these animations.

Thanks!

No joke, the emote system is really under utilized.
Wouldn’t mind if you could set thralls to random and have them do some emote at random at random intervals from the emote list.

For example: You walk by and catch one of them flipping a coin while guarding and another maybe looking over their sword.
At random, not something they do for the entire time until they are told to do another emote…
Needs to be a random toggle on/off switch for Random emotes, not the default.

Another example,i wouldn’t mind being able to have one of my thralls scrubbing the floors with a brush and a another thrall painting on a canvas with an easel.

Entertainer emotes, musicians.

I see it this way: The emotes are there, they are made. Mods allow you to control emotes as long as you have the DRM for them.

Simple: buy the emote, install the mod, use them.

I would not throw money for a system that exists. I would throw money for the emote to be available to me.

And before anyone comes around and be ignored by that argument, no, I dont care about Console players because they dont care about PC players either.

I never saw any console player saying that “given PC players can use mouse/keyboard, my feedback has that caveat”. So I dont care either.

I agree. The majority of emotes need to be usable by thralls, and descriptions of the emotes on the Black Lotus Bazaar should indicate if they can be used by thralls or not.

Another agreement. I’ve never understood why thralls can’t perform all of the emotes known by the player. The animations exist and are viewable by a thrid party, they added the code to allow thralls to perform emotes. It seems like it would take more effort to maintain two separate lists of usable emotes, one for the player and one for the thralls, than just to allow all known emotes to be usable.

I would like to have the option of favorite emotes for my main character. They are so many right now that when i think to do an e mote i stand like a fool in front of other players searching through bars and options to find my emotes.
If i had a favorite option, then i would have to choose between way less emote.
If we had a fast key to salute, this would be awesome as well

Yeah, a couple of hotkeys that we could set to emotes would be a really nice addition

that will never happen, i think there is a commercial (non ethical) reason behind it, if they would say the emote X does not work on thralls, it wont sell as much as people buying it, and figuring out later it does not work on thralls, and most people wont file a complain or ticket for an emote,… even more when tehre is NO Return policy once you have spent the CC.

again , wait for your favorite streamer videos to see how something works

Never purchase before you see a review.
Previously there had been noises made about improving transparency on the Bazaar.
What we have now is the result of that.

While this one could make a text wall about how it’s absurdly bad that they don’t even note whether an emote is thrall usable or not…
It doesn’t matter. It’s a statement that has been made since the Bazaar launched.

The quality of the humans in charge are plainly on display.

Me too. There are some pretty cool animations in the Bazaar, as well as the Battle Pass, but if they can’t be used by thralls, I’m not interested at all.

My thralls’ main job is to stand around in my base looking good. My main job is running around gathering materials, slaying enemies, exploring places etc. The thralls have all the time in the world to perform emotes, whereas I - don’t.

Heck, the thing I’m missing the most on the Isle of Siptah map is the Arms crossed emote.

If it was a “commercial” (non-ethical) reason the conspiracy nuts like to push in every topic, what would be the reason that free emotes you find in the map since even before any DLC existed also cant be found readily available too ?

Gotta think before making those stupid claims.

And the reverse, why if that is commercial, some bought emotes do work if there is some reason ?

I often take pictures with emotes I bought, and all I have to do is just select them and use. My Screenshots are full of them.

I only have to use mods for a few “stuck” emotes that the reason they dont works has to do with code, not “commercial” reasons.

Emotes are not “simple animations”. They have “sections”, which determine what a character do to “enter them” and “exit them” besides other blocks. So the emote itself is a large animation montage (hence the name) which executes in parts. There is a reason why specific emotes do not work directly from the menu with thralls. That is the root of the reason and doesnt relate with being a bought emote or not.

Probably the OP never got “all emotes” and that is why OP thinks it is paid emotes sole the problem. But no. A lot of free acquirable emotes also do not figure among thrall options.

This is comedy gold, I swear. In your hurry to shіt all over the people who disagree with your ideology, you tripped on your pants and fell flat on your face.

If you had bothered to actually read what the person you’re insulting actually wrote, you would have noticed that they were not saying that there’s a commercial reason why some emotes cannot be performed by thralls.

Here, let me add some emphasis to the posts you didn’t bother to read, maybe that will help you:

There you go.

But just in case it wasn’t clear enough, let me simplify it for you:

  • @wolffspider said that the Bazaar should clearly indicate whether the emote can be used by thralls
  • @Hansel said that Funcom’s reasons for not doing that are commercial and unethical

I hope that helps you properly channel your superiority complex and hurl future insults with greater accuracy.

Oh, and if you were wondering how I knew that @Hansel was talking about that, it’s because I bothered to pay attention to who he was replying to. The forum software actually shows that:

Oh, I am well aware that there are many free exploration obtained emotes that Thralls can’t execute. I would love for thralls to execute the freebee ones as well.

The difference is I am paying for the cash shop emotes, and there is no disclaimer on the cash shop as far as which emotes purchased by the cash shop can or can’t be executed by thralls.

For example, the pictish dance emote can, while most of the others cannot.

It seems like a missed revenue stream for Funcom.

People bought it, the revenue is “revenued”.

Besides, I am still not sure how many of those thralls cant execute.

I may have missed some, but that I am aware, I havent used only the knight ones, but all other emotes I bought I have been using with thralls just fine.

The free ones are the ones I have some that cant be used besides by mods. The paid ones, I have been using to make my pics and thumbs for mods since they exist.

Not using mods:

These I used for making the thumbs, not using mods to do the emotes too:

These are all thralls doing the emotes. They are on the list as much as in the character list:

Most of them work fine. Again, the only ones that seem not to be on the list because they are contextual are the weapon ones.

This is one of the points of this thread. We don’t know which emotes our thralls can or cannot use before we purchase it (or visit a third-party site).
