I updated Saturday night (22 July), and as of Sunday I can no longer log into my Exiled Lands save. The game just crashes as soon as the loadup completes.
I can still technically play my Siptah game for short stints before it crashes, but the graphics issues don’t make it a great experience: Floating grass, rocks, plants, and branches have been an ongoing annoyance, but now I’m straight-up falling through the ground in places.
I restarted my Exiled Lands save when Age of Sorcery was released. I have probably half-a-dozen fully functional bases on the go at this point, plus a couple of elevator outposts on cliff faces, and one purely decorative palace build on one of the islands at the edge of the map.
My current Siptah save is brand new. Started it with the Age of War release. I’ve got one big castle build on the go that takes up the plateau overlooking Riverwatch Keep, and opposite the Lonely Grave. You can see the curtain wall in the background of one of the pictures I uploaded.
In the meantime, here are some steps that might help you. Please ensure that your save is stored on the XBOX cloud before trying each of the following:
Reset the console cache by holding the power button for about 10 seconds until the console powers off, then disconnect it from the power outlet for a couple of minutes, then try loading it into your SP session.
Try to perform a soft factory reset while keeping games and apps.
If the above procedures don’t help, please try to perform a full reinstall of the game.
So…
After all of the above, I got my Exiled Lands save to load for about 2mins before it crashed. Neither save will load again after that first try. I think I’m just going to have to start over in both.
*It wasn’t a total loss though. Your advice didn’t help with Exiles, but it did solve all the performance issues I’ve been having with Civilization VI, so kudos for that! LOL…
I have to be in-game to transfer a character, eh? I can’t do it from the main menu?
The only thing that kills me about starting over is losing all the emotes I’ve unlocked - I like putting them on my guard thralls to make my base feel more like a living settlement.
…you wouldn’t be able to list the books & scrolls available through the admin panel that teach them, would you? The only ones I’ve found in game are Aquilonian Bedtime Stories, and the two Shades of Pink books…
Are all the (non-bazaar) emotes even available through such items?
No dice. I’ve cleared & reinstalled everything else, and turned all the settings down to minimum, and it still won’t even load my Exiled Lands save. I’ve already restarted on Siptah, and everything’s running perfectly. It has to be a problem with the old save files themselves.
Hi again Mayra. Restarting my games has cleared up all the crashing issues and most of the graphics issues, but invisible monsters are still a problem. Started a base near Muriel’s Hope, but some invisible, giant, boss-level creep has been making it frustrating.
And the Bearer Packs are still showing up as just wire frames on boards
The Arcane & Pictish pets are still blinking in & out of visibility as well, and the golem dogs don’t seem to follow any script you give them.
Same with the functionality of the Thaumaturgy Bench - the Tome of Kurak upgrade recipes kept dissappearing, and I had to keep removing the tome and crafting a new one to get them back.
Hi again. Just wondering about the invisible stuff. The problem’s persistent, and being jumped by invisible mini-boss & boss-level animals while I’m farming is getting really aggravating.
Please check my post about the issue I’m experiencing in coop/single where nothing has spawned in the map. Everything is a blank slate no npcs, no resources like stones and trees.
The bug that I’m speaking of started happening when the bazaar, challenges and battle pass wouldn’t work like loading in so I decided to restart my game and that’s when my issue started.
