Pardon my lack of manners here, but I’m about to rant on something that’s been frustrating the hell out of me.
My friend and I have been playing this game for a month or two now, and we’ve lost track of how many times he’s fallen through the world and lost gear, and now not only that, but he lost a nearly max level tier 3 thrall that had ALL epic armor and weapons plus misc items we had on her. FIX THIS ASAP!!! It’s making the game d*mn near unplayable at this point! I’d say I love the game as it’s a great concept and equally great gameplay, but with these constant issues I’m near the point of saying screw it and uninstalling. I’m sick of both my friend and I losing stuff not because we screwed up (I’d be fine with that) - but because the game doesn’t work right. Putting days of my life into this game only to lose it to stupid bugs is vexing to say the least.
What platform are you playing on, I have not experienced such issues on PC. I have heard about thralls falling off the world (it hasn’t happened to me) but it have not heard of players falling through the world.
Luckily I haven’t experienced this in a very long time except for that special area on the south coast of Siptah that seems to randomly kill horses on follow for no apparent reason, lost a bunch of horses there, but never a thrall or myself falling through the ground
Maybe as other suggest giving a bit more information about what server type/mods/place etc. of the incident would be helpful.
Welcome to the forum!
Totally respected, frustration is obvious! Loosing gear from game failures is not correct, so I agree 100%. Fortunately I never had this bad luck on official or private servers to loose gear this way! Would you be kind enough to give us more details please?
Single player Co op, or online?
If online, official or private?
If official, can you name the server?
Pc, Playstation, Xbox?
Thanks in advance!
No mods and it was the default server offered in the main menu for online coop. And that’s why I’m scared to bring any other followers out - I never know if they’re just gonna glitch fall through the map and I’m gonna lose them like what happened last night
If they get stuck in the map I can use ghost if need be (prefer not to at all though), but if they die from a glitch there’s not a d*mn thing I can do, and that’s what sucks…
Lol I don’t usually make these posts, so I apologize for lack of info. I made a few replies below that I’m going to copy/paste here so I don’t have to re type, I hope you don’t mind.
“It was online co op on an unofficial server (the default coop offered on the multiplayer option from the main menu). We were both playing on Xbox one.”
I play on Xbox one, and I’ve read about others having similar issues to mine on this game.
It’s a great game, but if I’m risking losing everything to something completely out of my control it makes it difficult for me to want to play the game since I don’t know when it might happen again or on what scale
There was an issue like this on the PS version awhile back.
Hit a corpse with a harvesting tool and boom, down under the map you fall to oblivion. It was over a year ago for us.
I am the admin
It’s just me and my friend that play on an unofficial coop server we made on Xbox one, and we have no mods. I don’t know why the issue keeps happening but it’s very inconvenient
This one hates it for you. Definitely a good idea to submit a bug report or so.
We are close to a major update, so hopefully it is evened out soon. If not, get ready with more reports.
No worries. From what I understand, it’s not on a server, it’s in co-op mode. Have you guys had a chance to test whether it happens if you both join a server?
On PC, the co-op mode is not the same thing as playing on a server. Instead, one of the computers runs only the client (just like when joining a server) and the other runs both the client and a limited version of server, which is why your buddy is tethered to you.
If this is the same way co-op works on Xbox, then that might be the cause of your problems: the consoles aren’t very powerful in terms of hardware, and the strain of running both the client and the server might be causing the server to not do its work correctly.
At any rate, I would check if the problem persists on a dedicated server.
It happened to me when I was playing on a XBox One S. It’s possible to retrieve the missing follower using the “follower tab” on the menu. Sorry I don’t remember how to do it. It’s been too long ago. Perhaps you should post on the XBox part of the forum to find someone who can help you better.
Agreed, but to be fair, he is not just trying to run the game, he is trying to run the game and host a co-op server simultaneously. At some point he is going to hit the limits of what his out dated hardware can handle and strange things will start to happen, his complaint is a good case in point.
They’re not using a feature that isn’t included as part of the base game.
If the base game does not function on a platform it should not be marketed on that platform.
That said, co-op play as it exists on consoles is not a good idea from the get go. Yes yes, it’s fun to have a two player game. But realistically speaking, it shouldn’t even have been in there from the get go. Multiplayer aught have been on servers only for console, as a realistic appraisal of operating capacity of such systems.
But so long as it’s offered as a feature, it needs to actually work. Or at least include a very overt disclaimer regarding stability issues on previous gen consoles.
The game has been out for 4 years now, and the game wasn’t as complicated back then. Perhaps when they first opened up to the Xbox market, the 5 year old (at the time) technology of Xbox One was fine to run co-op. I agree with you that co-op probably never should’ve been an option on consoles but just because a game has that option doesn’t mean all hardware can handle it.
Note: it’s not too late to remove that option, which I think they should do. Playing on an actual server makes for a better experience anyway.
