The concept of fatalities seems nice and all, but the way it’s implemented doesn’t really work.
Executing a fatality is the same key as the attack key. So if I’m trying to hit an enemy, and there is already another NPC in the fatality state, I’ll stop my swing and do a fatality. Or the game will get confused and I’ll stand there like a vegetable. Or I’ll forget how my arms work and every other enemy will start kicking the schnit out if me. (This is real fun in the middle of a purge, by the way.)
Why not make the fatality key its own separate hotkey? “Press T to Execute” or something like that.
Then I can choose if I want to attempt a fatality. As opposed to the weird coin flip thing we have now.
Consoles do not have many keys available, there for i suggested fatalities to be connected with target lock.
To all the feedback you applied @Caffeine i strongly agree.
I’d be fine with it being the special attack button, after all, it is the “special attack” button.
The only playstyle that it could be an issue with is dagger users, since their special attack is not an attack at all, but I think even they would prefer fatalities being on special attack instead of every attack.
For consoles it’s the square button..
With this button we give fast orders to our followers too. So you understand the confusion. On pc it’s easy, indeed you have a whole keyboard, on controllers it’s not, our orders are many and the buttons are limited.
