FEEDBACK Hot Fix 04/11 Barkeeps/Living settlement

First of all thanks for the patch, but there are new issues.
The returned Barkeeps do not follow.
You can put them somewhere in guard, but if you tell them to follow, they don’t.
Second: You, yourself told us that you are sorry and that we have to get new ones.
Now I have 2 Barkeeps standing in the Taverns and my followers are over the limit. Would it have been so difficult to warn us about that?

Update: I now have someone elses Thralls standing in my base, which i can’t get rid of. Who are they? Where did they come from? This base is standing at the same spot for 1 1/2 years!

Honestly, I really want to believe you guys are trying to fix things, but I seriously am loosing faith

Update2: Try to select the returned Barkeep at the counter after you removed the new one, I dare you. Right, you can’t select him.
You only can select him after you remove the bar and then he doesn’t follow you.
Who had that brilliant idea?

Update3: Did you really have to turn on living settlements again? Now my workers that i had in ghost animation slots are stupidly walking around the base again, opening doors. Fix this dor stuff or leave living settlements off!!!
Did anyone from QA look over this stuff? Is there some QA left? Has there actually been someone doing QA ever?

I am so angry right now

Definitely something that has consequences that might not be as apparent but require some heads up.

Out of curiosity where is your base?

People on my server insist on building at or near 0,0,0 and in Conan Exiles that is like the Bermuda Triangle: weird sh*t always happens there.

Haha my female bartender now can’t emote (weren’t they able to before?) and has the male “Antonio Banderas” voice.

BTW are you guys saying that the deleted bartenders from earlier have somehow reappeared? How is that even possible?

They were never truly gone.

People were able to bring them back from the depths of the database (@learuis to give credit where credit is due!).

You told us to replace the bartenders? Does this affect the new ones everyone got,guess ill find out when i get home from work, I got new ones didn’t want the old ones back wtf!

I’m not sure if it’s the same thing, but there were 4 thralls just standing in my yard yesterday, I thought they were tavern patrons whose animations had stopped. There is no one near me and I couldn’t get any info from them (no bar at all).

What will happen to people have in max limit if thralls? Does the barkeeps will delete some of they thralls or they will just join and bypass the limit?

They’ll just join your thrall limit so you’ll have the chance to delete the unwanted ones

This is a GENUINE problem.

The tavernkeepers went and disappeared on us with AoH. The official communication guidance that we got from @AndyB was “we’re sorry” and “you will have to go and re-acquire the tavernkeepers.”

So, if my thrall cap was 30, and I had 30 thralls, and 3 were tavernkeepers… I would be down to 27. Following the official guidance from Funcom, I would have worked to re-acquire 3 tavern keepers.

If they then correct the pathing, and my 3 previously missing tavernkeepers show up because they’ve corrected the bunked pathing, that would put me at 33.

And with this SURPRISE patch - I had no way to make headway for the new, additional thralls that have now been “fixed”. No communication. No guidance. And now since I’m over on thralls, I suppose I will have to risk the game choosing to rando delete 3 of my people.

@den - Are you seeing this mess? @Caroll ? ANYONE?! :rage:

btw, I found some of the returned tavernkeepers inside the foundations below the bar

I took my bar out; I got no use for it. Had my barkeep setting on a bench before she went poof. Back to the same spot so I put her back on the bench.

My issue was with in minutes of logging in my work room was emptied. I lost connection while making armors and really don’t care to log back in.

The important thing to consider is there is a softcap and a hardcap for thrall population.

Softcap is the number of allowed followers. After you reach this number, you cannot place additional followers or open cages.

The hardcap is, last I checked, beta, AoH, the softcap+10.

If your hardcap is exceeded, the system will auto delete the thralls it deems weakest until the hardcap is no longer exceeded.

This is my current Follower recap on an official public PVE server.

Interesting, i’ll have to do my twice a week refreshes a bit earlier and check for damage tonight.

Barkeepers that end up in an already-occupied tavern slot should be able to e interacted with normally by aiming at the space above their head instead of center-mass. This quirk should fix itself upon server restart - once the server is restarted, the misbehaving barkeeper should be placed nearby and interactable as normal.

Extra barkeepers will indeed count against your follower limit however, so you may need to manually break bonds with unneeded barkeepers. I realize this is basically the opposite issue from before, but at least this time is far more temporary.

I am sorry for the additional inconvenience this caused.

you can interact with them, but they won’t follow
sadly I can’t test that tomorrow, as I broke bonds with all “rescued” Barkeeps
