First of all your base is kinda big/stretched as well, second you deserve this for playing fpp.
Jokes aside - good luck waiting for intervention from FC, but if it happens admin will come to check this, don’t be surprised if you will be punished as well.

when you get the automated response mail , just reply to it , stating that this needs attention from admin ! In the meantime , get sorcery for the bat demon spell (or the transportory stone) so that if the people walling you in , put anti-climb on top of those fundations , that you can still go in and out easily while waiting for resolution of your report.

I guess you are one of the players from the clan that block me^^ and also my base are if you make it square very small compaired to the others buildings adn i made it open so ppl can run thrue it (well, use to be able to run thrue it), I dont block any resources, soo…..

I always play solo, while I don’t play on pure PvE servers, nor am I cyrylic speaking lad.

And this is just another reason why I’ll never play on anything but private servers.

@Heike

I’m not taking sides here but have you considered that their actions may be retaliatory to the size of your base. It could be causing lag for other players. Through my eyes the wall was erected to annoy you, and it obviously has.
There is also the possibility that the wall builder may have reported you.

As @Tweed has pointed out, if FC do intervene (and don’t hold your breath) your base could get a haircut as well.

OP, have you EVER … EVEN … considered … building more modestly?

PVE for crying out loud.

If you have to build big, run your own damned server or play solo.

If this was really the case than they should have reported the build and let funcom decide what is “too big” on their own server , as much as people claim will always be a question of judgment calls you think it’s too big , I don’t think so, it might be it might not be , only funcom should be the judge of this . Do you really want to be the guy that defends such practices ? And the walling clan , don’t you believe that they think they own the server ? I would love @Heike to show us a clip of their base I bet you it extends way more than his, based on their behavior

also welcome to the club @Heike

Use your sorcery and hope that Funcom won’t react to your call .

I’m not defending anyone. All my points were simply speculation, and to point out possible reasons why the other player(s) built the wall. They may just be jealous of the OP’s building skills. Who knows.

All will be revealed if and when FC decide to take any action.

This is a good take.

No matter the reasoning the walling clan is still griefing *as an addition to the thoughts.

He’s a solo player. That base will be wiped of the map in a heartbeat if Funcom intervenes.

Thought maybe I’d just make a new comment instead of editing for clarity..

I should say that I’m of the opinion that players shouldn’t use the reporting system like some kind of “I think they broke a rule but not sure” repository, however. The reporting system is badly executed as is. Because of this, the way players can be and the lack of attention the game has been receiving, not to mention the previous controversies regarding the ToC, Official servers can and have suffered.

For me, the only time I would report is IF there is something that is seriously affecting me. Such as blocking uniques, hacking, exploiting, land claim griefing towards me, etc.,..

The population on Officials has waned for various reasons but I’m not going to add to the already poor system for minor issues like a bit of perceived “overbuilding”. FC has already made their stance on this a long ass time ago, “big” bases are not the problem.

There are literally players that report anything perceived as a violation and think that they’re doing a service and have admitted so. It feels more like they’re donning a cap of “server police” rather than playing the game. Recently a player posted here reporting for 1 foundation claiming its build spam to block others… which probably was more of a “I want mine” mentality.

That goes into now how the reporting system was abused for that very issue of “I want mine” in additiona to exploiting the system and rivalries. As a result, suspensions and bans affected the greater Official community.

So we can then look at personal responsibility and server harmony. Players are people and people do people things. Then adding in the instability of the game, GPortal servers and a poor reporting system, it can create animosities, perceptions and ad hoc justifications when people get what they want by using that system.

Quite a storied history on these events that I can talk and talk about. I made it a personal quest to understand the nuances of the reporting system and found quite a bit of interesting stuff. Including how scripts can turn the tide. Suffice it to say that a chunk of reporting, at least in the past, hurt everyone on Officials.

I am sure I’d be close to this again if I were actually playing. That would be on Official PVP NA but I can’t.

I think OP should dismantle their claim, go somewhere else or another server. Not because I think their claim is big but because FC has, in the past, wiped offenders and non-offenders within the same area - including cases where the victim did not appear to be doing anything wrong with evidence presented.

Try single player. No fuzz there …

Otherwise online play is what it is. Can’t stop development without a regulatory Board. Same happens in RL.

OP’s own base may or may not break the rules itself, but the enclosing of his base is definitely rule breaking and the worst way of handling a conflict between players.
That said, I doubt that helpshift reports do anything as many have been reporting without getting anything else but an automated response, nothing has been done about rule breaking, and I think a lot of players are aware of it and now simply don’t care about the rules or other players.

Most official servers(at least pc servers) are performing extremely bad to the point of being unplayable with more than 5 players online at the same time, not all, but many of them are like this.

@Heike has earlier made a post about overbuilding problems in areas of #1090 pve server, so out of curiosity/boredom I went there and examined it some time ago.

Instead of rewriting what I said back then, I stand by my recommendation of simply move to a different server and start over since the performance and stability of this server simply isn’t worth your time!
Old thread here…

I don’t know how Funcom will actually solve this issue. This starting river should allow only small buildings by mechanism and discourage players to go big there.

Each new player needs this damn river to understand the game and lvl up a bit to move on further. At least the southern side of the starting river shouldn’t allow any construction.

From the other hand we could say that players who go online official have already learned the basics on their single player session. This however doesn’t change the fact that this river can help you lvl up safely in the beginning and provide you your basics to start your journey, no matter if you’re a new player or an old one .

Then mass building issue on starting river plagued this game since forever i guess. No matter if builds are fine ,kinda helpful builded or luxurious, they plague gaming performance and spawn removal from a really sensitive area of this game.

That is a very far fetched assumption. I didn’t touch SP in my first year of playing and most people i know just used it to test stuff or complete Battlepass challenges
