Fish Traps (Same bug as back in 2020...)

Once again, you can’t place them in water that isn’t excessively deep. I mean—okay, sure, the way it was set up back in UE4 was admittedly a bit too easy. But now do you have to be a deep-sea fisherman just to do it?

Here’s another one of the many threads from 2019–2021 regarding this topic, as it illustrates this exact problem complete with screenshots.

Please make sure you report bugs through our help center. You can read more about that here: [PC] Conan Exiles Enhanced Bug Report Guidelines

It took a little while (due to work), but I’ve caught up on it now. Furthermore, on my private servers, I’ve tasked the players with running along every river to place fish traps. This seems to apply to all shallow rivers this time around. (Though everything is detailed in the ticket.)

I am also having the same issue. Official Server. I have tried all over with no luck. Not just here in the screenshot, but other area’s as well.

I’ve also reported this. It affects the whole of the central rivers (east, west and the bit that joins the two across the centre). I also affects the whole of the Boundary Spillway.

The little bit at the bottom of the eastern river that I’ve marked in green does work (from the final waterfall down to noob river). Noob river works. Priestking’s Retreat works (the dividing point up there is even stranger, because there is nothing to distinguish the point where it crosses over from working to not working - it’s the same depth, same everything).

I noticed this too. Fish traps that were already placed before the update still work, but it’s no longer possible to place new ones.

At first, I thought it was intentional. Those rivers are extremely shallow and don’t even have visible fish, so from a realism standpoint it kind of makes sense that fishing wouldn’t work there.

But then I realized this basically turns fish into one of the rarest resources in the game. So if this was intentional, props for the realism and consistency. That said, restricting fish farming this much probably should’ve come with some alternative source or balancing adjustment.

Personally, I think fish traps should still be placeable in any river regardless of water depth, simply for gameplay reasons.

and lets not forget the good thing, it was in past also possible to place it in the big well for water, which was good and part of the good things of conan, all the little things that have been removed and were doing conan a great game.

Since yesterday’s patch, I’m now able to place fishtraps in these places as normal (haven’t tried large well).
