Single foundations are not despawning on the official servers. It appears that if the foundation was at one time connected to a larger structure, the decay timer wont reset back to the appropriate decay timer.
We had a large base that we moved. We deleted the entire structure, but some of the foundation blocks were located in the undermesh. I figured these would despawn in a short timeframe, just like if you placed a single block by itself. This did not happen.
Part of the problem is that our new base is close enough that when we log in, we reset the timer. But heres the kicker… after 4 days of not logging in, the few blocks in the undermesh didn’t decay.
I eventually found out that if you place multiple blocks in a row until the decay timer starts to increase (say, it reaches 40 hours), then you delete all but one block, the last block will retain the 40 hour decay timer.
SO the blocks that are near our base wont despawn and poeple are getting mad. With the new official rules about spamming foundations, we’re worried about being reported. To fix this, I’d basically have to log out until our whole base despawns, or move somewhere else. But yeah, were not moving!
Just FYI, I know the blocks are there because I can see them with a repair hammer. Also, when I hover a new foundation in the area, it snaps to the blocks in the undermesh.
Thanks guys.
