With your grease lighting posting that you will be moving forward with the Age of Hero’s and Living Settlement (October 17th), I would like to take a moment to strongly urge your leadership to consider the following:
With this update, will you also be addressing any of the MAJOR bugs that have been plaguing Conan Exiles?
If the answer is no, I hope that you will recognize that it might be in the best interest for the game property and the player community to push the release date by ONE FULL WEEK to give your team the sufficient time to address one (or mutlitple) of the below list of critical issues:
Players and thralls falling through foundation blocks
Players hitched to the floor, unable to move at first login (the infinity dodge roll)
Undead and other mobs refusing to fight with their weapons, and instead going punch/kick style
Mob aggro facing issues (where they come at ya and stare you down, but don’t seem to be able to get close enough to you to actually attack)
User interface and inventory sorting issues / indexing and desync issues (Siptah is somehow worse off with the UI than the Exiled Lands)
Tavernkeeper thrall performance issues
Living Settlement thrall performance issues
Living Settlement thralls going missing issues
Purge performance, crashing, and functional issues (pick one, or pick a couple - there are many)
ANY of the many, many, MANY game exploits that have gone unchecked / unaddressed for far too long
This is, by no means, a comprehensive list. I am sure I am forgetting several which will be listed later in the replies to this post. If your Age of Heros release does not include at least ONE or TWO of the major issues on that list – then from Crom’s sake PLEASE go back to the well.
I’ve said it before - Funcom, I want you to win. If you aren’t giving true considerations to some/all of the major issues on this list, you aren’t going to win. And I want you to win. Please. Please win.
Just to clarify, this message from @Cauthey is getting addressed just to the one that gets the responsibility of the launch date.
If the reasons are for the financial health of the game despite the quality of the product, then it’s another poor choice over the years!
Anyway, i really hope this time we’ll get something different!
Agreed, most if not all of these points need to be fixed or at least made less prevalent.
If thralls on wheels of pain and placed thralls are going to disappear there will be an utter excrement storm coming. Falling through foundations is already bad enough to warrant it being a priority fix, if it gets worse and/or more frequent then yet again, it will be bad.
There are only so many ways to put this, but it can all be said quite simply: fix the abovementioned issues.
The amount of negative traffic a technically large, demanding and buggy update on top of another shaky set of updates will cause will be bad for the game and no doubt the company.
Deadlines be damned, i sincerely hope that this upcoming update releases and tends to many of these issues, and if it does then there will be no issues of course.
If not, then the statement of spending and taking more time to introduce proper content and polish the existing state of the game will fall flat. Hard. I already can’t in sound mind introduce new people to half the servers i have a character on, and this is on EU servers. Arguably the servers where the problems are least prevalent. It’d just be a waste of their time and my credibility.
We really hope this upcoming update will not be the disaster some people claim it is likely to be.
Things already are in dire need of polishing.
I am more concerned about the Companions.
Freya is still bugged on the 2nd quest on my run of the Test live server. So no chance of ever completing the companion quest.
At least my “Returning home” Carpenter finally came home after being stuck in mid air at the 0.0.0 Coffee shop! I think the Thrall that it was merged with got deleted.
Yes, my Living settlement stopped living. And I do have the issues listed in the OP. But they are not game breaking.
There is of course the Stamina issue where it wont replenish while fighting. Poof dead.
But… Not being able to get the companions due to being bugged, in my mind defeats the purpose of the “New Age”
… Chapter (i lost count).
Yet i have to say that nothing compares to the rubber banding issue that arrived with the hyborian dlc. It was the worst experience of all times and it lasted for about 10 days if i remember correctly. We were waiting for the hotfix like mana from skies!
The usual, no worries! A good surprise will be not to have another “nemedian” issue this time on storage chests .
Cheer up, everything will be ok, stay positive .
(i wish i knew how to use an atomic bomb gif )
