My apologies for having to bring this up again, folks, but the game is crashing frequently again for me. Sometimes it will let me send a report. Other times it completely locks up or even blue-screens. I will try to keep clicking the report button whenever I can. For a while I was able to play nearly crash-free. Not anymore. This is not making for a fun play experience.
Yup perma crashing since last update..
Is this on laptop or desktop? Singleplayer or multiplayer? (Someone else is reporting the same, I’m just trying to see if you have anything in common.) (I’ll add to the player-maintained bug list.)
Desktop. I have an NVidea 3090 GPU. Hopefully the reports that do manage to get sent will have all of the details in them. And it’s multiplay. I rent a GPortal server. My brother who has a nearly identical setup other than a 3080 GPU seems to be having no trouble at all.
Maybe you could try to launch without Battleye, it takes not much time to try it out.
It solved the crashes for two of my friends.
Darn. The person reporting it on the other thread is on a laptop and having the problem in singleplayer. So that rules out a lot of possible commonalities.
Hopefully Bigbadabum’s suggestion above might work. I’ll keep watching these threads in case there’s any news.
I will try that and see if it helps. Thanks for the suggestion!
Ok, it appears to be working so far. Weird thing is, I had turned it off a while back and noticed after the patch that it has somehow mysteriously turned back on. I had thought nothing of it until my game started crashing again and by then I had forgotten that it might have been the problem (getting a tad forgetful in my old age). I will keep playing throughout the day and if the problem does not resurface then Battleye was it. I really would like to know how it got started again.
Game crashed again but it was only once over a period of many hours. So far I see this as a bit of a success. It’s not completely ok but it’s a good step in the right direction.
Maybe I spoke too soon. The frequency of crashes has started to dramatically pick up again.

I presume you’re not running any mods?
Have you tried verifying the game files through Steam? (It didn’t do much good for Valkyria over in the other thread, so unlikely to help you either, but it’s another option that’s at least worth eliminating.)
If you haven’t already done so, it’s probably also worth reporting the issue to Helpshift - Contact Us — Conan Exiles Help Center . I know you’ve mentioned sending the crash reports whenever you can, but from the way that report window is set up, I suspect those reports go to Epic (the developers of Unreal Engine). It might be worth making sure Inflexion also have the reports since they are the ones actually working on CEE.
No mods and yes, I have checked the files. The error I get is always some sort of Win64 Sandbox error. Something about memory.
Yeah, I figured that would be the case, but always worth checking.
I would definitely urge you to send a report to Helpshift - at the very least it should improve your chances of getting a fix at some stage. (WIth luck maybe they can find the problem and either get a fix out quickly or fold it in with the update later this month.) Give them all the info you can think of - every little bit might be relevant.
I have taken your advice and sent a bug report to them with whatever information that I can remember. It’s not much I am afraid. I am an old man and these things get rather confusing. I am trying to help them as much as I can though.
Ok, I have managed to write down the information. This is definitely a UE5/3090 GPU problem. First, I get a statement saying “GPU Crashdump Triggered”. Next comes a series of identical “ConanSandbox_Win64_Shipping” statements. Then I get a “kernel32” statement. Finally I get a “ntdll” statement. I suspect this is why my brother does not have the same problem. He has a 3080 GPU.
This probably won’t solve it (because odds are you already have the latest version), but might be worth checking your GPU driver is up to date. (Should be able to get access through Nvidia control panel.) Like I say, odds are this won’t be it, but it’s another thing worth trying.
My driver is definitely up to date, assuming of course that 610.74 is the latest driver. I think it came out only 2 days ago.
Yeah, I figured that would probably be the case. As you say, it may just be a UE5/30 series problem. Hopefully the devs can find a solution sooner rather than later.
Im playing on CachyOs (Linux) my only issue i have with crashes is that when loading into server i often go out of vram memory, if i lower resolution i can get in easy, and then raise it after when in, and the game just keeps going untill i close it. remember running on linux is kinda unstable so im quite shocked i havnt had any crashes when im in and playing for hours. its like vram spikes when loading into an server.
