Game fails to launch: Unreal Engine is exiting due to D3D device being lost

I recently reinstalled Conan Exiles on my Windows 11 PC, and it failed to launch. When I start the game, I get the Unreal and Nvidia logos, and the cinematic starts to play. As soon as I click anywhere with my mouse, the game crashes, and I get an error message: [FileC:\B\tech_exiles\Engine\Source\Runtime\Windows\D3D11RHI\Private\D3D11Util.cpp][Line81]
Unreal Engine is exiting due to D3D device being lost. (Error: 0x0 ‘S_OK’)
I cannot get into the game at all.
What I have tried.

  1. Uninstalling and Reinstalling the game.
  2. Verified the integrity of files within Steam.
  3. Disabled virus protection from Windows Defender.
  4. Ran game as administrator.
  5. Changed the compatibility mode to Win 7 and 8.
  6. Underclocked GPU.
  7. Updated Windows.
  8. Updated Nvidia card.
  9. Disabled Steam and Nvidia overlays.

Nvidia Geforce RTX 4070
13th Gen Intel(R) Core™ i7-13700 2.10 GHz
32.0 GB (29.7 GB usable)

I have run this game on a much lesser computer. Thanks for any help.

The one thing I didn’t try was start it up in wndowed mode and that fixed it.
