Game freezes when selecting settings menu

Hi,

I run into this strange problem. I have installed the game 2 times already, launch with directX9, everything is working in the game except for one thing : whenever I use the “esc” key or I try to click on settings in the login menu, the game freezes.
What is even stranger is that I managed once to get to the settings in game by using esc key, but only once.
Ive tried reinstalling the game and checking the files multiple times to no effect.

Anybody has an idea ?
