You’re entitled to your opinion. I won’t argue the point. I doubt there’s anything I can say that will change your mind. I hope you can find a way to enjoy the game all the same.
Agreed, just take a look at the game Cyberpunk on PS4…so many bugs that Sony dropped it from the platform entirely! Fine on PC, bad on console. Odd.
Whatever you say bud.
Good grief. I don’t bloody work for Funcom. And what, are you stalking me now? Are you seriously attacking me over posting in other game forums???
I’ve had some BAD interactions with this community before, but this is a whole other level of ridiculous.
Now you’ve done it. You’ve made me come to this cursed forum with your awful comment.
Multigun is a valued member of this community, and has contributed far more than you ever have. He’s a prolific mod author and has nearly unmatched technical knowledge, which he shares for FREE. He doesn’t work for funcom, this is entirely volunteer work because he cares about the game.
I want you to cite a lie he’s allegedly told, and prove it. Show your proof with the class before you make these claims.
He asks questions because nobody knows everything, it’s impossible to. People learn by asking, not by making things up and arguing like you do. He just doesn’t ask here because venomous creatures like you won’t give him a helpful answer.
All in all, delete this and be ashamed of yourself.
Really? He does? Let’s see. In this thread, he explained that “View Distance” in Unreal Engine 4 does not refer to render distance. I personally haven’t worked with UE4 – my stint in game dev industry was short and we used Lumberyard – but I went and googled it and what do you know, he was right: https://docs.unrealengine.com/4.26/en-US/BlueprintAPI/Settings/SetViewDistanceQuality/
Render distance is configured differently: Topics tagged unreal-engine & question
As for your claim about BattlEye causing your BSOD, you do know we can search the forums, right? Here’s what he told you to do:
And here’s your response:
All I see in that thread is someone who helped you fix your problem. I don’t see anyone confirming that problem was caused by BattlEye. I’m not going to accuse you of lying – like you accused him – but I am going to point out that you threw out a serious accusation without backing it up with any evidence whatsoever.
Stalk much, dude? For your information, everyone asks for help. Even professional game developers working in AAA studios ask for help. Despite having more than 20 years of experience as a software engineer, I still occasionally ask a question on StackOverflow.
@Multigun does not work for Funcom. When someone who works for Funcom posts on these forums, there are very obvious visuals indicating that. There’s a cyan border around each of their posts, and a topic that has received a reply from Funcom staff also has a “Dev Reply” icon next to it:

That said, even if he did work for Funcom, asking for help would be perfectly normal. Come on over to our side of the fence and do some serious programming without ever asking for help from anyone. Then you’ll earn the right to attack others for doing so.
Honestly, after so much uninformed and entitled vitriol, I’m really astonished that @Multigun keeps hanging around these forums.
And before certain other salty fans of echo-chambers jump in to point out how @Multigun can be abrasive and Funcom tolerates that, if you don’t like his tone, flag him. That’s what flags are for. Despite my respect and admiration for him, I personally flagged some of his posts where I thought his tone wasn’t appropriate for these forums, because that’s how you do it. You don’t do it through vicious personal attacks.
Multi is neither a hardware/software tech OR a support professional. That’s true. Usually those are two different jobs handled by people with very different “customer service skills.” Multi is not someone who would ordinarily interface with the client base, because he’s best doing what he does best. Short-handed as we are, you deal with him, but yes, he’s still a professional.
I am a professional tech. And I’m a support professional. A rare hybrid. My love for this game, and the friends I’ve made while playing it, open my heart to supporting something that isn’t my product. But I do the same for Microsoft Windows, or Quickbooks, or SQL, it’s just paid support.
We’re here because we love the game and each other.
Next time I’ll try and be more observant to your tech needs, just go easier on Multi.
I have spent considerable time playing and documenting my playtime. There is an enormous demonstrable performance improvement in the current beautiful, playable game. If someone is having a different experience, many of us, including Multigun and me have tried our best to help get them the very best experience. No one should miss out.
@fenix_svk
So you lost the argument, were proven wrong, and went of on a rant and started personally attacking @multigun.
Like multigun, I have little patience for people that cluelessly babble on about “the games dead”, “the mods dont care”, “the games broken” blah blah blah.
I have seen very many posts on this forum where Multigun has helped people, but I have never seen one thread where you did.
Ditto
Please keep your comments civil and on topic. Some of you may wish to read this again.

I like the way the dust on my ban hammer looks and want to keep it that way.
At this particular snapshot, I would say the game runs far worse on PS4 than it did a couple years back.
But this hasn’t, in my experience, been a consistent vector.
Some updates improve performance, others seem to erode it. The realities of a game that has routine patches.
At present the “rubber-banding”, rendering rate, and (as far as I can tell) random crashing is at a high point. This was not the case three updates ago (I think it was three, I lost track of the rapid fire chest patches) where it ran as smooth as a baby’s forth point of contact for a shining moment… as long as you weren’t trying to join certain official PVE-C servers.
Mind you, this is PS4.
I think the most recent shift for the playability taking a dive was the last time it was noted as a console optimization. Sometimes things go sideways. Unlike the skeleton key situation, I imagine performance fixes are significantly more involved.
Remember when the poor X-Box players were just locked out for months on end? That’s broken. The current performance on PS4 is more what I would call in notable need of repair. The engine still runs, but that’s not a good noise and what is that noxious miasm pouring from under the hood?
People are going to get salty when something doesn’t work as well as it used to. Especially when little things that seem like comparative non-issues get patched quick. The frustrated mind is rarely a reasonable one.
Another important thing to keep in mind is that the game does not run equally across all platforms. What is true for the PC, may not apply to X-Box or PS. The PS4 version was functional while the X-Box was being consumed by the memory error last year… and it’s an excellent way to rankle feathers by rubbing in someone’s face that one version is working fine while their’s is fit to make lemonade from.
I do wish there were something akin to the testlive system for consoles. I am aware it’s basically not possible. Just a fond wish.
