That is just verifiability false.
I cranked the game to Cinematic and 3840 x 2160 for a screen grab the other day, with the river and the moon and my new bridge, wasn’t it majestic. It didn’t run so good on my rig, granted, but it pushed 24 frames. I know Cinematic is new, so I put it to Ultra: 30+. This is certifiably better, and objectively better than at any time before.
Now I can play and record this beautiful game at 1080p, 60fps at High. This is documented in my history of published and unpublished videos: we’ve never had it so good.
If PCs are performing this well, it’s only a matter of time before PS4 is properly optimized. The real question I have is whether a new SSD will improve anything over the current hybrid drive. About time to preventatively replace it.
Did you seriously not catch that obvious sarcasm?
I never troll.
I like how barns works for Funcom and posts how great it is while almost every other post is how bad the game is. It crashes, invisible combats, NPCs that don’t fight back, thrills fall into the map and die instantly, horses instantly die half the time you get off them. In the water, Sind doesn’t match the actions and combat, and this guy posting how great it works when he has probably never loaded the game. GL convincing people who actually played the game.
From my experience, yes it does once in awhile, usually after a patch. But not often enough to be a big issue.
I’ve never had that issue happen, but haven’t played on servers for a couple years.
Again, never had that happen on my single-player, but I’ve seen it on servers due to lag, not game issues.
This one I have had a few times on SP. My wolf just the other day. I’m sure FC is aware and working on it, but I would like to see this one fixed
Never even heard of this one. I doubt it’s nearly as often as you suggest. No offense, but overly exaggerated complaints are too common on these forums and don’t help.
Again, no offense, but I’m guessing that’s “sound” doesn’t match? Never noticed that, but I usually have something playing alt-tabbed, so I may not notice sound issues.
Does he? The “Chosen” as far as I know are just other players that were given the titles because they are so active in modding and very helpful on forums. I didn’t think any of them actually worked for FC.
This is absolutely correct. Chosens are community members that FC has recognized their contributions by giving them a special title and creating an in game thrall using an anagram of their forum title
Sadly a bunch of people choose to attack them over it, and I’m fairly sure that’s the reason they no longer give out the chosen title
Not a single Asuran works or is paid by Funcom. Despite claims to the contrary and frequent attacks and/or threats from this community. Hence
That.
I also noticed some problems that you describe in the players who play on the PC, specifically “sound desync” where this problem happens to me as well. Some problems I can respect, but some I absolutely and I am of the opinion that they should be fixed immediately. It’s true that since this game is out, the gaming experience is worse, but I can understand it because the game already includes a lot of new DLCs, new workstations, new slaves and much more so that’s probably why the game works worse than in the beginning.
I don’t know exactly how gaming on PS4 works, I’ve never played games on a console but the only thing I can advise you is an SSD (if possible). SSD helps to solve a lot of problems, especially loading, whether when connecting to the server or while playing. With every game, SSD is definitely an advantage, although I understand that if someone normally uses a 500GB SSD, it is not possible to have this game on a better disk and at the same time other games or applications. Good luck
I’ll be general here so as not to bore. PS4: the problem is the bottleneck somewhere in the system. The bottleneck is dependent on unit ID, because items like mainboard, GPU, CPU were shifted over time. Conventional wisdom has been to avoid SSDs in most PS4s due to cost, and benefits that do not include performance.
It really depends on how much you use it for playing media, like stored movies, home videos, game captures, and Kevin Bacon. In that case, a conventional hard disk replacement would not be advised.
The other problem is you need to source a shunt kit to make the SSD sit properly in the machine with adequate ventilation. Many aftermarket setups have the SSD heatsinking straight into the body of the PS4. In many cases it’s best to stick with a hard drive, or hybrid drive, as it’s pretty much just plug and play.
@Barnes is a Funcom employee, @Halk is a white knight and I am a bot 🤦🏼. The funniest think is that I had to ask @sestus2009 what is bot? I didn’t knew .
I new you where a bot @stelagel no wonder you have a accent it’s bottish. You must live under a bridge. Just kidding @stelagel is a great guy other than my load now is taking forever maybe I will reset. Wife and I have 1 terabyte ps4 we don’t have to many problems
You may be right, but I judged it based on the results provided by the users. I came across many videos that were focused on fix stuttering, fps drops or reducing loading time, and whether they were players on PS4 or PC, they always managed to eliminate the problem using SSD.
I myself encounter the problem of when the game freezes when I look into the chest, vault, stuttering when I run on the map and so on because I use the HDD. I have seen HDD and SSD with these problems and I have to say that SSD was really the solution to these problems.
Anyway … I think the game itself has a lot of problems and it’s sad that no one is trying to fix them to this day. At the same time, in my opinion and experience, it would be enough to add settings to turn off some things in the game - Shadows, waving staff, view distance, which also includes the map view, not just entities such as grass and decorations and much more.
But - Nothing I wrote is meant as an insult to Funcom or Conan Exiles. I am a player who has been playing since the release date, I supported this game by purchasing all DLC so I just express my opinion which is definitely not wrong
We get frequent enough patching fixing bugs and issues. It is rather fallacious to claim that “no one is trying to fix them”.
There are options for View Distance, Effects Quality, Texture Quality, General Shadows… Is this different on PS4? If so that…sucks.
No I would not have taken it as such. You are trying to point out things you feel need to be addressed to make improvements to the game you enjoy and there is nothing wrong with that. I do think you are correct with the SSD issue as I have seen improved performance on my PS4 after adding an external SSD, but I do not play Conan on there so I cannot directly respond to performance in this game specifically.
I play on a series X and have few problems except the universal Xbox bugs of the white distance terrain and the weird climbing stutter
That being said I feel like I have longer loading times after the last update.
View Distance - Even if you set the setting to low, you can see the entire map. I don’t know a game in which the player has revealed the whole map, but with each game it has an extreme impact on RAM memory and even though the recommended system requirements are 8GB of RAM, the game uses 7-7.1GB of RAM so it’s definitely not here something is right and you need to finally think about it. “Recommended” means 60FPS stably, not 30-40 and stuttering
General Shadows - Even if you set them to low, they are still here. With every game, shadows are a problem, no matter how good your PC is, especially if it’s an online game. In the past, shadows could be turned off completely using a command and console. For some reason they removed the option and no one knows why since it was a very good way to increase FPS and remove a lot of lag
Yes I like this game but do the developers like it? I remember perhaps the whole history of this game, every problem that was here, every problem that was fixed in the past, as well as problems that were important and were not fixed at all, I remember a lot. Bug with stamina when you used “javelin”, he was here for maybe 2 years and no one was interested in it, even though it was quite bad and abused. Duplication bugs that still exist today and no one solves them, and it has a lot to do with why 90% of PVP servers are dead in the EU, the same for the US.
Recommended:
- Processor: Intel Quad Core i7 3770K or AMD Ryzen 5 1600X
- Memory: 8 GB RAM
- Graphics: nVidia GeForce GTX 780 Ti/970 (High settings) and 1070 (Ultra settings) or AMD R9 290/AMD RX480 (High settings)
- Storage: 115 GB available space
Players who use the RTX 2080 and higher GPUs have a problem, as do players who use a 10-year-old GPU with 2GB of memory. Just look at the Nvidia forum, Conan Exiles posts, Steam posts and other websites where players ask for advice. This game is great BUT the development of this game is catastrophic and as I said, the “number” of players on the servers speaks for itself
Uh, that’s not what the distance quality setting is for…
Other then that, you hit on a bunch of overused memes (devs don’t care, game is dead, etc), so, not going to respond to the rest.
Isn’t recommended, the bare minimum in most cases to run a software?
More memory is definitely better. If you are at 8 Gigs of RAM, you should shut off all other types of software, especially web-browsers which can eat at least 1 Gig of RAM. I think 8 gigs is bare minimum these days to play.
My old computer ran the game fine with i7 6700K (16 gigs of RAM until late last year when I upgraded to 32 gigs), 1080 GTX and on a HDD (granted it was the western digital velociraptor HDD, which is a faster than a standard HDD) I did eventually move it to M.2. SSD, but I think that only helped mostly with logging into a heavy modded servers (46 to 58 mods). Granted, even though the computer is 5 years old, this computer is pretty good and is able to handle the game without any issues even on ultra settings. (1080 settings usually but did play in 4k for the fun of it once in a while)
I agree Shadows (and various light sources) typically can cause lag. I always recommend to turn it off for MMOs if a player lags.
High graphic games like this one, with other players tend to cause issues for some players.
Sorry but i really dont care about any “memes” as you mentioned. The only thing that interests me is the level of gameplay, which is currently quite low these days and I can form my opinion based on experience, not on what people write or talk about who probably only need to attack Funcom.
I don’t know what “view distance” means to you but in the game world it means only one thing - View distance refers to the amount of in-game distance that the player can ‘see’. Higher view distance results in more objects being rendered and higher view distance quality results in distant objects being dynamic in nature. For example, setting view distance to high will result in more trees appearing on the horizon while setting the quality to high will result in the player being able to see distant trees away around instead of just being static models. Many games nowadays already include the map itself in the view distance setting. The less a player sees, the better his performance (for example Rust or Minecraft)
Unfortunately, I don’t know if I can take someone like you seriously when I last threw a BSOD report that was caused by an anticheat used by Conan Exiles, it’s even confirmed by Funcom and Battle-Eye, but you told me it was a mistake on my PC, not in the game or in the anticheat.Sometimes on this site I feel that my job and life experience from another gaming company is useless when the problems in this game are solved by amateurs. Have a nice day PROS
I can’t say anything technical about game performance. I’m a dinosaur when it comes to computers. But I will ask you to show a little more gratitude to people like Multigun who are not paid for any of the work they do for CE, and he specifically won’t even accept donations for his modding. They’re just kind people who are trying to help the communtiy at no benefit to themselves. Please keep that in mind.
The View Distance setting in Conan Exiles has to do with LOD quality, nothing to do with what is viewable in terms of map distance. Trees etc, sure, but not the map. UE4 has documentation on this (not going to bother linking it). But you keep believing whatever you want to believe.
Hmm, just looked at your thread, no where does Funcom say “yup, it’s confirmed to be Battle-eye.” But you keep making up whatever you want to believe, again.
And why are you still here since “devs don’t care, game is dead, game quality is low” anyways? Good luck getting help in the future though, I’m sure people like me will jump at the chance…
