Came to the discovery that a new conan exiles update is out since today. This update seems to be as big as 304 GB! (like why ) Anybody has any idea why it is so big, and having the same issue? (I would also like to know before i delete half of my harddrive lol)
Yeah… This is ridiculous. I have a NVMe 1 TB storage for my games. I unintalled Ark SA (208.93 GB) and ARK SE (210.12 GB) and Conan because I thought there might have been a DL bug. I just finished reinstalling to find Conan Exciles is 324.9 GB for a game that has a small gaming community is wild…
I’m not so sure it’s really a bug. I suspect it’s more that people are understandably getting tripped up by what the download manager shows you. I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve had to explain delta encoding to people upset about downloading huge patch files.
Guys, don’t be fooled by the file sizes you see in Steam’s download manager. It tends to either only tell you the size of the download, the size of the file changes, or the total size of the file changes plus all the temporary files that have been shuffled around, depending on what you’re looking at. Basically everything except the actual size of the game.
If you go to the game folder and look, it should be somewhere around 100 - 110 GB, if you don’t have any mods in there.
