Glowing Stick won't work underwater

As already reported on the Xbox bug forum – same is happening on PC. All but defeats the purpose of having one and the dungeon where you learn to make would be a lot darker as a result, arguably even unplayable unless you already know where you’re going. Not to mention it would be nice to have a way to see while in the water on dark nights.

This apparently happened during a patch where most weapons were removed from being able to be equipped underwater, but there’s no reason to limit the stick like that.

Steps on how to reproduce issue:

  1. Learn glowing stick recipe.
  2. Craft glowing stick.
  3. Equip stick and enter deep water. Stick is unequipped.
  4. Stick will not re-equip while character remains on or under deep water.

I thought the purpose of the glow stick was to have a torch that doesn’t generate heat, was it really a water torch?

It is a case of item description not matching. it says it can be used underwater, but it says it lose i’ts glow over time once uprooted, which is not of the case for either.

The glowing stick actually cools you down! It generates cold air.

I do believe they are also supposed to be usable underwater though.
