Hello! My greater crocodile was following me into my base, I walked into a 1 x 6 room with boxes, then my greater crocodile teleported to me and died immediately right behind me. I used Sandstone building parts, not sure how it happened exactly, but I was just looking through my boxes then it said “Greater Crocodile has stopped following you” and I heard it die.
At the time of it dying I was looking in a box. I just turned around then boom, dead crocodile.
The only reason this may have happened is maybe it clipped into the foundation? It had plenty of food on it, it was full health prior to it’s immediate death. No warning signs occurred.
I’m sorry if it isn’t able to be reproduced, it happened very randomly and it puzzled me. I wanted to report it in case this happens to someone else or if it is fixable.
Please provide a step-by-step process of how the bug can be reproduced. The more details you provide us with the easier it will be for us to find and fix the bug:
Have Greater Crocodile follow you
Walk into a 1 x 6 room, where the crocodile can teleport to you.
I constantly had my Greater Crocodiles sinking into the foundation. Every time I had to take half my base down to get them out. I ended up placing them in front of my base of solid ground. I also have Greater Tigers but those do fine on foundations. Only the Crocs seem to sink through them.
Ive seen this happen with greater crocodile in the exact same situation…in a thin hallway. Ever since the last patch I have even lost a human thrall this way.
I confirm, since I started the game I lost all my crocodiles in foundations… And they often enter inside foundation --’ I had to destroy some base too…
This is the only pet which can follow me in house but that kills him…
The other animals are ok, but they can’t follow me in house, I have to put them in by force. (I make a report for that and some kind person answered me that is a door’s problem).
My clan has had a lot of inexplicable pet/thrall deaths this past week. Keep in mind, these are all on a PvE server:
Descending stairs another player built from the desert to noob river, a dire wolf simply keeled over mid-run even though it didn’t fall.
In the volcano, my bearer decides they’d rather die than walk up the steps onto another player’s bridge. I lost the only sabretooth cub I’ve ever seen, plus my cold weather gear, which I’d swapped onto them once we got into the heat.
Along noob river, a brand new greater croc died while standing on some steps by the fence of another player’s base. It was only 20-minutes out of the pen and had only been standing there a few seconds so it couldn’t have been hunger or spikes. Also the steps were only 1-foundation high, so falling damage is out too.
Additionally, about a day after the pets expansion was released, one of my clanmates and I were coming back from a dragon-slaying romp in the unnamed city with our original greater croc in tow. We had just reached the top of the ramp that leads from Southern Aqueduct down to the river near the spider cave (their house is in the green part of that peninsula on the river) when the croc just vanishes! We spent 2 hours retracing our steps all the way back to the spawning pits and doing a spiral search around the southern aqueduct and never did find it.
At this point, we’re paranoid about taking pets/thralls anywhere, and basically disregarding that whole aspect of the game.
Sometimes crocodile disappears in foundation but it will appear few days After…
Yesterday I found my crocodile who disappeared three days before ! But now, few minutes ago, disappeared again xD
Fall damage killed you poor croc.
That is what happen often when npc teleport, it’s like they was falling, ever if not visual, and they die.
Would be fine if they lower or remove the fall-damage for pets.
