I restarted my character to replay the early missions.
In Tier 1/2 of the mission ‘Ground Zero’, where you have to play through the Tokyo Flashback, there is a part where you have to kill a ‘Filthy Mass’ to proceed through a gate.
The mission then proceeds to tell you to ‘Collect loot reward from defeated Filthy Mass’.
The problem is that the monster does not drop any loot, so I cannot pick anything up, and I cannot proceed with the game. I’m stuck.
I’ve played through the mission 3 times now with the same results.
I just completed this mission for the 5th time and the loot finally spawned. That was a strange one. I can move on with the game, but I would definitely have to still say that this quest is bugged.
The most likely scenario is that the game was downloading background data (indicated by a spinning icon in your topbar) and was missing assets. If that ever happens, just pause what you’re doing until it stops.
Enabling the “full” client download in the patcher options reduces (but does not eliminate) the need for background downloads. You can also increase or uncap the speed for them, also in the patcher’s or the game’s options.
